INTRODUCTION


The Production Floor Supervisor supports the Production Manager in the overall operation of the Production Department.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Ensure that all work performed is accomplished within the authority of the Repair Station and is properly supervised and inspected in accordance with the policies and procedures defined in the EAS Repair Station Manual; control unnecessary costs without compromising safety and dispatch reliability; ensure facilities are kept clean, organized and in compliance with safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance of the department to the standards of housing and facility, personnel, equipment and materials and performance required by the FAA; establish standards and procedures to ensure safety precautions are observed and to ensure that safety equipment is in proper operating condition; ensure all personnel are trained in appropriate safety practices and procedures, including the proper use and location of the fire fighting equipment.
  • Ensure availability of adequate parts, materials and consumable items for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance; ensure proper handling of parts while in the repair process and when work is complete.
  • Ensure adequate Lead Technician coverage to provide effective oversight of repair station operations, planning and managing maintenance personnel schedules to maintain appropriate staffing levels for current workload demands, and efficiently utilizing manpower by adjusting work methods and procedures to improve productivity, operational efficiency, and the performance of personnel under their supervision. Train, supervise and evaluate staff; serve as a positive, constructive, communicative leader for the organization and its customers and policies for the industry and its participants.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Preliminary Non-Routine (NR) task card evaluations are physically verified on the aircraft, accurately estimated, properly documented, and marked at the discrepancy location where applicable, including identifying any required QA buy-back and ensuring the evaluator has completed all required information. They shall also ensure Lead Technicians actively monitor approved labor hours, remaining hours, and bump status for all assigned NRs, while proactively identifying and initiating labor bump requests in sufficient time to prevent approved labor hour overruns.
  • Serve as liaison between Production and Quality to ensure accurate and timely communication relating to the airworthiness and safety of the articles in work; keep Production manager appraised of activities that may affect production schedule as well as personnel issues that may arise.
  • Serve as liaison with Customer’s ongoing work; provide support for customer questions and concerns; provide statistical data to support daily status reports and provide information to the Production Analyst that will affect project scheduled deadlines; maintain a proactive approach in identifying need for plan changes to meet goals.
  • Serve as a positive role model for ethical behavior and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles that is consistent with these principles; provide guidance, direction, management and support in a secure and dignified work environment; promote and support the mission of Empire Airlines.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  •   Airframes & Powerplant Certificate required.
  • Three years of practical experience in the procedures, practices, inspection methods, materials and tools generally used in the work for which the Repair Station is rated. 
  • Must have two years supervisory experience and be appropriately certificated under FAR Part 65. 
  • Must read, write and understand English, and possess a working knowledge of the FARs, Airworthiness Directives, and manufacturer's approved procedures and practices.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
  • Must have advanced computer skills and proficiency required for the preparation and presentation of reports.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with insurable record through Empire’s policy, required.
  • Must adhere to the company’s FAA/DOT required Drug and Alcohol Program, required.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work may be performed in a hangar environment and outdoors in varying seasonal and environmental conditions.
  • Will be exposed to noise and hazards associated with aircraft maintenance.
  • Requires standing, walking, sitting, bending and stooping for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to lift up to 80 pounds, plus ladder/lift usage.
  • Requires manual dexterity, speaking, seeing and hearing to conduct business.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • Starting pay for this position is dependent upon experience and qualifications. Annual Range: $80,000 - $90,000
