Description

Dreaming big is in our DNA. It’s who we are as a company. It’s our culture. It’s our heritage. And more than ever, it’s our future. A future where we’re always looking forward. Always serving up new ways to meet life’s moments. A future where we keep dreaming bigger. We look for people with passion, talent, and curiosity, and provide them with the teammates, resources and opportunities to unleash their full potential. The power we create together – when we combine your strengths with ours – is unstoppable. Are you ready to join a team that dreams as big as you do?

The Key Purpose of this role is to lead our community and entrepreneurship work across all BU South markets, so that social investment clearly supports the company's reputation, trust and licence to operate. The role is about building real, visible programmes that show how we contribute to inclusive growth and using what those programmes prove when we make the case for fair and balanced regulation. It also means strengthening the entrepreneur and retailer network, creating socio-economic value we can measure, and making sure local market realities (including township economies and informal trade) shape what we take to Global Corporate Affairs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Advocacy Proof Points & Regulatory Environment

  • Run flagship programmes that show, in practical terms, what the company contributes socially and economically, and that support the case for fair and predictable regulation.
  • Gather the evidence behind them: impact data, independent validation and stories from the market that we can use with government, regulators, industry bodies and communities.
  • Work closely with Public Affairs and Legal so programme design lines up with policy priorities and the regulatory risks we can see coming.
  • Use what we know about township economies, informal trade and the day-to-day constraints on small businesses to design interventions that are credible and useful.
  • Keep senior leadership close to local economic realities, stakeholder expectations and any reputational or regulatory risks emerging.

Flagship Platforms: SAB SHARP & Retailer Development Programmes

  • Own the direction, governance and delivery of SAB SHARP and the Retailer Development Programmes across BU South.
  • Build and scale programmes that help entrepreneurs and retailers run stronger businesses: better capability, healthier finances, digital adoption, sound operations and access to markets.
  • Make these platforms our clearest examples of inclusive growth and use the evidence they generate to support both reputation and advocacy.
  • Design models that can scale, so more people take part in the economy, businesses grow and jobs are created in the communities we operate in.
  • Track performance and social impact, and let the evidence guide how programmes are designed, resourced and scaled.

Leadership & Multi-Market Execution

  • Set the BU South community and entrepreneurship agenda, operating model and annual priorities, and bring market teams and cross-functional owners with you to deliver them consistently.
  • Manage the portfolio's budgets, implementation partners, risks and performance routines, holding the business to account and improving as we go.

Global Liaison & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Be the main point of contact between BU South and Global Corporate Affairs, Sustainability, Inclusive Growth and the relevant global programme teams.
  • Put BU South priorities on the table in global strategy, governance, reporting and best-practice forums, and adapt global frameworks so they work in our markets.
  • Build strong working relationships with Public Affairs, Legal, Sustainability, Communications, Finance and Procurement.
  • Agree who owns what and how decisions get made across functions, so programmes deliver both social impact and advocacy value.

External Partnerships & Ecosystem Development

  • Build partnerships with government, regulators, development finance institutions, NGOs, funders, universities, incubators and enterprise-development organisations.
  • Bring in outside funding, expertise, networks and delivery capacity so programmes reach further and last longer.
  • Negotiate and manage partnership agreements, governance structures, delivery milestones and performance reviews.
  • Represent the company in industry, policy and stakeholder forums, so AB InBev is seen as a serious partner in inclusive development and a constructive voice on regulation.

Governance, Measurement & Reporting

  • Put proper governance, risk management, compliance and performance frameworks in place across all BU South markets.
  • Define and track the social and reputational measures that matter (enterprise growth, programme reach, partnership leverage) in a form that holds up as advocacy evidence.
  • Report clearly and concisely to BU South and Global leadership, and contribute to sustainability disclosures, policy submissions and Corporate Affairs communications.
  • Put resources behind the biggest opportunities, and step in early where delivery or data quality slips.

Key Attributes and Competencies:

  • Running complex programmes at executive level.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders across both the private and public sectors.
  • A good feel for regulation and public policy.
  • A solid grasp of theories of change and M&E frameworks.
  • Turning programme evidence into advocacy proof points.
  • Real understanding of township and informal trade.
  • Leading multi-market portfolios.
  • Building partnerships.
  • PMO, governance and impact measurement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Policy, Corporate Affairs, Sustainability or something related.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus.
  • 8-10 years in Corporate Affairs, public policy or regulatory affairs, enterprise development, socio-economic development or sustainability, including leading across several markets and managing complex partnerships.
  • FMCG experience is essential; consulting experience preferred.

Additional Information:

  • Band: IV
