Shipping & Receiving Clerk – JLL
What this job involves:
JLL is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team at a client site in Markham, ON. This position plays a vital role in ensuring seamless shipping operations and mailroom support for our client account. You will work with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, managing the complete lifecycle of packages from receipt to delivery. This role is essential to maintaining operational efficiency and delivering exceptional service that supports JLL's commitment to excellence in facilities management. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Prepare courier packages, coordinate pick-ups and deliveries, confirm receipt with stakeholders, and resolve shipping issues promptly
- Process and validate documentation for outgoing packages, including international shipments, and provide guidance on shipping requirements
- Enter Bill of Ladings and maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing packages (internal and external)
- Create detailed reports on shipping data and support delivery coordination for employee packages
- Process and record requests for recycled items, manage material handling tasks, and maintain shipping supply inventory
- Provide backup support to mailroom duties, receive Royal Mail, and forward correspondence to appropriate departments
- Maintain work area cleanliness, follow prescribed safety regulations, and report equipment or space issues to the Facilities Department
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated computer skills and experience with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with client personnel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and concisely
- High degree of accuracy in handling packages and routing shipments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple work streams and priorities
- Physical capability to lift 40 lbs. repeatedly and perform lifting, bending, twisting, and operating a manual pallet jack
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in shipping, receiving, or mailroom operations
- Familiarity with courier service platforms and shipping documentation procedures
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs requirements
- Previous experience in a facilities management or corporate environment
- Comfort learning new technologies and adapting to various shipping software systems

Estimated compensation for this position:
This range represents the estimated base salary and actual compensation may differ. Final base salary is determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations. Some roles and employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, benefits, or other compensation.
