Description
STV is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to join our Construction Management Group in Mt. Pleasant, WI, supporting large-scale, mission-critical data center projects. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects for data centers from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
The Senior Construction Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for project delivery, lead multidisciplinary construction management teams, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate is a proven leader with extensive experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial construction projects, preferably within mission-critical or data center environments.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage construction management staff, providing direction, coaching, performance feedback, and development opportunities.
- Foster a culture centered on safety, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project development and execution.
Project & Construction Management
- Provide overall leadership for the planning, design coordination, construction, and delivery of complex mission-critical projects.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, contractor performance, and risk throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive decision-making, resolve issues proactively, and manage project changes to maintain project objectives.
- Review trade contracts, bid packages, and procurement activities to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Monitor construction progress and provide regular executive-level reporting on project performance.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings, preconstruction meetings, progress meetings, and other project coordination sessions.
- Collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to drive project success in a fast-paced environment.
Safety, Quality & Site Operations
- Champion an injury-free environment by promoting and enforcing all safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure QA/QC standards are implemented and maintained throughout construction.
- Review and coordinate site logistics plans alongside general contractors, operations teams, and consultants to optimize field execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 20 years of construction management experience overseeing complex commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
- Minimum of 5 years leading construction management teams or large, multidisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing all phases of construction, including planning, procurement, execution, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Strong understanding of commercial and industrial building systems with a focus on data center design and construction.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, contractor performance, and project risks.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with executives, clients, contractors, designers, and technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering hyperscale or mission-critical data center projects.
- Owner's representative or construction management consulting experience.
- Experience overseeing multiple concurrent projects and large field teams.
- Familiarity with commissioning, QA/QC programs, and complex MEP systems.
- OSHA 30 certification and other relevant construction safety certifications are a plus.
Compensation Range:
