Location: Florida

Travel Requirement: Up to 50% travel across the U.S.

About the Role

Regional Field Service Manager is responsible for the design, launch, and scaling of mobile service operations across North America. This includes establishing the service framework, defining territories and coverage, building customer pipelines, and implementing the compliance, safety, and operational structure required to support field operations.

The role operates with a high degree of ownership, combining strategic direction with hands-on execution during early-stage operations until the function is structured, stable, and performing.

This position is located in Florida.

What You'll Be Doing

Build & Launch the Mobile Service Operation

  • Launch and establish a mobile service business unit from concept through execution
  • Define service territories, coverage models, and customer targeting strategy
  • Establish operating procedures, workflows, and performance standards
  • Develop a scalable service delivery model aligned with growth objectives
  • Transition from hands-on execution to structured leadership as the team grows

Hands-On Service Leadership

  • Personally oversee perform service work, troubleshooting, and repairs during early-stage operations
  • Support field execution alongside technicians to establish standards and credibility
  • Ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency in all service activities
  • Lead by example in safety, customer interaction, and technical execution

Compliance, Safety & Regulatory Framework

  • Build and implement a full compliance framework across jurisdictions
  • Ensure adherence to operational regulations
  • Establish job site safety standards and enforce safety-first culture
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, environmental, and provincial/state regulations
  • Lead incident response, reporting, and corrective action processes

Customer Development & Market Growth

  • Develop and execute customer growth pipeline strategies across defined territories
  • Build relationships with municipalities, contractors, and fleet operators
  • Support business development efforts, proposals, and service contract structuring
  • Identify new service opportunities and expand aftermarket revenue streams
  • Act as a key customer-facing leader and escalation point

Operational & Financial Management

  • Establish cost structures and manage operating budgets for mobile service units
  • Control labor, travel, parts, and warranty costs to achieve profitability targets
  • Track and drive key performance metrics:
    • Uptime and service response
    • Revenue per technician/unit
    • Cost per service call
    • Customer retention and growth
  • Drive the service model to operational sustainability and profitability

Team Building & Leadership

  • Recruit, build, and develop a scalable mobile technician workforce
  • Establish training, onboarding, and performance management processes
  • Create clear accountability structures and performance expectations
  • Develop future service leaders as the organization expands

Continuous Improvement & Execution Discipline

  • Translate strategic vision into structured, executable plans
  • Implement systems, tools, and reporting to support operational visibility
  • Utilize and manage a CRM and Service Management System to track service activity, customer interactions, work orders, and performance metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement in service delivery, cost efficiency, and safety
  • Build processes that are repeatable, scalable, and data-driven

What You Bring

  • 7–10+ years of experience in field service management/operations, fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment repair
  • 3–5+ years of leadership experience across multi-site or field service teams
  • Proven experience building or launching a new service operation, business unit, or program from the ground up
  • Strong hands-on technical capability in diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Proven experience leading field-based or mobile service teams
  • Prior hands-on experience with both CRM and service management platforms is required to support operational visibility, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Continuous improvement training
  • Working knowledge of DOT compliance and regulations
  • Strong understanding of operational compliance, safety standards, and labor regulations
  • Post-secondary education in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
  • Ability to travel throughout the U.S to support multi-site operations, up to 50% travel as needed to support the business needs is required
  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
