The Role

Proofpoint Engineering is looking for a Senior Program Manager to drive delivery across our cybersecurity product portfolio. In this role, you'll lead cross-functional programs that span Engineering, Product, Threat Research, and Operations — ensuring teams stay aligned, dependencies are managed, and critical products ship on time to protect millions of users worldwide.

What you'll do

• Own product delivery across the full software development lifecycle — requirements, design, development, testing, and release — across both cloud and appliance-based product lines

• Drive alignment across Engineering, Product, Threat Research, Operations, and Customer Support on programs that span multiple teams and timelines

• Coordinate across multiple Agile teams using scaled Agile practices including aligning sprints, managing cross-team dependencies, and driving program-level delivery rhythm

• Turn program complexity into clear, strategic updates for senior leadership

• Lead strategic planning and end-to-end delivery for multiple programs simultaneously, balancing long-term goals with day-to-day execution

• Manage cross-team dependencies, surface blockers early, and drive timely decisions to keep programs on track

• Engage with senior stakeholders and executive sponsors, providing clear visibility into program status and risks

• Evaluate scope changes and shifting priorities, communicating impact clearly and aligning teams on the path forward

• Build and maintain proactive risk management practices across all programs

• Mentor intermediate program managers and contribute to building a high-performing, collaborative team

What we're looking for

• 7 years of program management experience in a software or product engineering organization

• Solid understanding of software development processes and the ability to engage meaningfully with engineering teams on technical delivery

• Experience working with multiple Agile teams at scale — familiar with scaled Agile frameworks and cross-team coordination practices such as Scrum of Scrums

• Strong influencing and relationship-building skills across engineering, product, and leadership teams

• Excellent communication skills — able to present complex information clearly to audiences at all levels

• Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence; proficient with dashboards and program metrics

• Able to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities with a clear head and sound judgment

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud SaaS delivery, appliance-based release cycles, or cybersecurity product environment
