Account Executive & Support Professional - Trade Credit Insurance
Are you an insurance professional who enjoys building trusted client relationships? Would you like to develop specialist expertise in trade credit insurance? Join our Trade Credit Insurance broking team and help clients protect their receivables and manage credit risk!
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Dublin office.
Aon is in the business of better decisions
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.
As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
What the day will look like
You will support the growth and day-to-day servicing of a portfolio of corporate, mid market and SME clients. Working across client service, policy administration, market engagement, reporting and claims support, you will help deliver accurate, timely and high-quality outcomes.
- Support the management of a portfolio of trade credit insurance clients, respond to queries on coverage, credit limits, claims and mid-term adjustments, and help prepare for renewal and review meetings.
- Prepare and process new business, renewals, endorsements and cancellations, maintain accurate client and policy records, and produce policy schedules, cover summaries and other client-facing documentation in line with compliance, audit and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with trade credit insurers and underwriters to obtain terms, negotiate coverage and resolve day-to-day issues, while gathering information, preparing market submissions and collating quotations to support placements.
- Assist with client reporting and monitor key dates, including renewals, endorsements and credit limit reviews, following up proactively and working with financial and exposure data.
- Provide first-line support with claim notifications and documentation, liaise with clients and insurers to help claims progress efficiently, and maintain accurate claims records for internal reporting.
- Stay alert to appropriate opportunities to deepen client relationships, including top-up cover, political risk, surety or related risk products, share insights with the wider team, and attend networking and commercial events where appropriate.
How this opportunity is different
This role offers the opportunity to build specialist knowledge in trade credit insurance while applying your existing insurance experience in a client-focused broking environment. You will work across a varied portfolio of corporate, mid-market and SME clients, gaining exposure to the full client lifecycle from placement and renewal through to policy servicing and claims support.
You will collaborate closely with clients, insurers, underwriters, account directors and internal stakeholders. Experienced colleagues will support you as you develop your product knowledge, contribute to tailored client solutions and use sound commercial judgement to help grow and strengthen the portfolio.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- A relevant insurance qualification, such as APA, CIP or an equivalent recognised in Ireland, together with proven experience in the insurance industry in broking, underwriting or account handling.
- Experience in a client-facing or account support role, ideally within commercial or corporate lines, with a strong client service focus and excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A good understanding of general insurance principles, policy wordings and regulatory requirements in Ireland. Trade credit insurance experience is desirable but not essential, provided you have a strong interest in learning this product area.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, take ownership of tasks, identify issues early and escalate appropriately.
- Numeracy and confidence working with financial and exposure data, including credit limits, turnover and loss ratios, combined with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word and a collaborative approach.
