Description
Our client, a 100+ bed healthcare facility centrally located about an hour from Raleigh and Fayetteville, NC, has a need for an ER Director to join their team.
The Emergency Department Director effectively leads and is responsible for directing the Emergency Department. Will maintain regulatory requirements, including all local, state, federal, and DNV regulations. Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating department policies and procedures, nursing procedural manuals and job descriptions. Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluation and termination of department staff. In cooperation with Administration, other department leaders and others (as needed), shares responsibility for intradepartmental planning, program development, standards of care and integration of services.
Ideal Candidate:
- 5 plus years of ED Experience and at least two recent years of ED Manager or Director Level Experience. Good tenure preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree required, Masters degree preferred
- Budget Experience - development of ED budget, maintaining budget
- Policy Development / updating
- Experience working with Community Agencies including County Mental Health, EMS, and Advisory Committees.
- Experience with staffing, licensing and maintenance of hospital ambulance service
Responsible for 65 FTEs

- 21 treatment areas
- 2 trauma rooms
- Designated SANE Room
- Hazardous Materials decontamination
- 5 fast track rooms
- Coordinates with other medical centers for medical, trauma airlift and ground transport
Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and licensed by the NC Board of Nursing.
- BSN or higher preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of hospital Emergency Department experience and 2 years of leadership experience.
- Knowledge of nursing medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to hospital and Emergency Department operation.
- Demonstrates time management skills including prioritization, timely follow up and deadlines.
- Experience with quality performance monitoring, labor management, and scheduling.
- Evidence of preparing and monitoring annual budgets.
- Computer knowledge of Meditech preferred.
