FT Porter

Galloway Ridge is an upscale continuing care retirement community offering top-quality care in a warm, welcoming environment. We are looking for a caring and motivated Porter to join our team! The Porter position helps our community in many different ways. They are responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility, help out with maintenance duties as required, and assist our residents with move-in processes. This may include moving furniture, appliances, and other possessions. Porters also assist other staff members in the set-up and tear-down of special events inside and outside of the building. Other responsibilities include assisting in the removal of trash, perform general floor-care activities, and handle   dirty, clean, and soiled linens.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Performs general cleaning of facility, grounds, and residences including soiled and clean linen transport, sweeping, tile, carpet and all other floor care, window washing, daily trash removal, residential deep-cleaning program, etc. 
• Maintaining equipment and supplies for efficient and effective job performance.
• Awareness and reporting of safety related concerns and other duties as assigned by the Director of Facility Operations
• All other duties assigned include, but not limited to, enhancing the Resident Experience. 

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED 
• At least one year of housekeeping/janitorial related experience preferred. 
• Must be able to move heavy objects.
• Must be able to perform duties inside and outside of the facility when necessary.
• Able to successful follow written and oral instructions. 
• Preferred knowledge of general housekeeping. This includes floor-care equipment, cleaning solutions, and solution mixing procedures. 
• Able to work independently as well as in a group setting. 
• Able to clearly communicate with a diverse work group. Communication styles include written and verbal communication. 
• Must be willing and eager to work and provide assistance to residents of the community. They must also have a genuine interest in geriatric care and uphold our core values: caring, empowerment, integrity, and commitment.
