Job Description

A TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welder is a experienced professional who uses TIG welding techniques to join metal parts together. . This is an onsite role based in Kancheepuram, reporting to the Production Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welding Operations: Perform TIG welding to create joints on structures such as bridges, automotive bodies, and building frameworks Like Sheetmetal fabrication work.
• Tool Handling: Operate specialised hand and power tools, including arc welders, grinders, and buffing machines
• Material Preparation: Select and instal torch tips, filler rods, and flux based on the thickness of metal materials
• Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret welding codes and blueprints to ensure accurate welds
• Quality Control: Conduct tests on welds to ensure they are clean, free of errors, and meet relevant welding codes
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all welding operations comply with safety guidelines

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in TIG welding techniques and equipment operation
• Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose welding-related issues to ensure quality and productivity.
• Technical Precision: Ability to weld metal workpieces following engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Certification: Certification from recognised welding organisations

The Essentials – You Will Have:

• Diploma / ITI or equivalent technical qualification
• 4–6 years of experience in Tig welding
• Knowledge of machine operations, tooling, dies, and maintenance practices
• Understanding of SOPs, safety requirements, and quality inspection processes
• Willingness to work in shifts and shopfloor environment

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

• Expertise in automotive, electrical, electronics, or general manufacturing industries
• Exposure to embossing operations and advanced bending techniques
• Familiarity with 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices
• Expertise in production documentation and reporting systems
• Train and support junior operators
