Description
General Manager, Fats, Oils & Grease (FOG) Division
Minus Waste Solutions
Toronto, ON
Build a Business. Lead a Division. Shape the Future.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity for an entrepreneurial leader to build and lead a new business unit within one of Ontario's growing environmental services organizations.
Prime Management Group Inc. is partnering with Minus Waste Solutions to recruit a General Manager to launch and lead a new Fats, Oils & Grease (FOG) collection division - developing the strategy, building the team, establishing the fleet, winning customers and taking full ownership of the business.
You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, the support of an engaged ownership team, and the resources needed to build a business that can become a significant contributor to Minus Waste Solutions' future growth.
What You Will Do
-
Develop and execute the business plan, go-to-market strategy, and staged growth roadmap for the new FOG division
-
Own the full P&L - including revenue, pricing, gross margin, operating costs, capital requirements, forecasts, and monthly performance reporting
-
Design route-density and territory plans for restaurants, supermarket chains, and multi-location food-service customers
-
Select and specify the required trucks, tanks, pumps, and collection containers; prepare sound capital justifications for fleet investment
-
Establish pricing models, contract structures, and commercial controls that protect margin while building long-term customer value
-
Personally open the market, develop key accounts, and lead customer-facing sales activity during the division's formative stage
-
Recruit and develop the collection, operations, and sales team required to scale the business
-
Coordinate closely with Perth Environmental on processing throughput; and with other internal partners on execution
-
Build operating standards, KPIs, and review rhythms covering safety, service, route productivity, customer retention, fleet utilization, and profitability
-
Adapt quickly as market feedback emerges, resolving obstacles without losing momentum
The Leadership Style That Will Succeed
-
Entrepreneurial and ambitious, with the drive to create something substantial rather than simply maintain an existing operation
-
Diplomatic and high emotional intelligence; able to read a room, listen carefully, challenge constructively, and build alignment across differing perspectives
-
Senior and credible in bearing, with the presence to earn confidence from customers, operators, and executives from day one
-
Adaptable, resilient, and highly accountable; willing to change course when the evidence demands it and persistent enough to finish what was started
-
A natural communicator and motivator who creates clarity, builds morale, and turns targets into measurable action
What You Bring
-
Progressive leadership experience in waste services, rendering, used cooking oil, liquid waste, recycling, or a closely related route-based service business
-
Demonstrated ownership of a P&L (this is essential) including the ability to explain results, defend investment decisions, and translate operational activity into financial performance
-
Experience leading people, setting expectations, and building an accountable, engaged team; this cannot be your first time managing a team
-
Strong understanding of route economics, fleet-based service delivery, and the operating realities of trucks, tanks, pumps, and collection equipment
-
A credible record of winning and growing business with restaurants, grocery/supermarket groups, food processors, or comparable multi-site customers
-
Evidence of taking a new initiative, service line, territory, or operation from concept through successful execution
-
Commercial judgment, financial discipline, and confidence presenting plans and results to senior leadership
-
A valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout Southern Ontario
Why Join Minus Waste Solutions?
-
Join a fast-growing entrepreneurial organization with ambitious expansion plans
-
Help shape the future of the company where your ideas influence strategy as well as execution
-

-

-
A company that believes great businesses are built by great people
Compensation
$120,000-$145,000 annually, plus performance-based incentive and a comprehensive benefits package.
