Description

The Assistant Chief Deputy for Media, Communications & Outreach is responsible for overseeing the Office’s public communications, media relations, community outreach initiatives, and strategic messaging efforts. This position develops and implements communication strategies that support the mission of the Office, enhances public understanding of its services and operations, and strengthens relationships with the community through outreach, education, and engagement efforts. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and public information requests.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, public notices, announcements, newsletters, and official statements.
  • Manage and oversee the Office’s website, social media platforms, and digital communications.
  • Coordinate community outreach initiatives, public education efforts, and special events.
  • Develop communication strategies to promote Office programs, services, and initiatives.
  • Assist executive leadership with speechwriting, presentations, talking points, and public messaging.
  • Ensure consistency and professionalism in all external communications and branding materials.
  • Coordinate with county departments, courts, community organizations, and external stakeholders on joint initiatives and public messaging.
  • Monitor media coverage and public feedback relating to the Office and assist in responding when appropriate.
  • Assist with crisis communications and dissemination of urgent or time-sensitive public information.
  • Create informational materials, brochures, signage, and outreach content for public distribution.
  • Promote transparency and accessibility of Office services through proactive communication efforts.
  • Coordinate photography, videography, and media coverage for Office events and initiatives.
  • Assist in planning and promoting public service campaigns and educational programs.
  • Perform related administrative, supervisory, and communications duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, or Journalism, and
  • At least three (3) years of experience in journalism, communications, broadcasting, public relations, or a closely related field, including supervisory experience; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License
