Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Charnwood to assist with the appointment of a Maintenance Joiner, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £19.00 - £25.17 per hour
Summary:
The Maintenance Joiner will involve carrying out a wide range of joinery repairs, replacements and associated maintenance works in a multi-skilled environment, ensuring all work is completed to a competent recognised standard and in accordance with relevant health and safety, building regulations and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out all types of joinery repair, replacement and upgrade works associated with council properties and buildings.
- Undertake associated remedial works and work across other trades when required.
- Inspect items of disrepair, assess whether repair or replacement is appropriate and carry out remedial works accordingly.
- Identify and advise on appropriate remedial action and specify suitable products to achieve the best possible outcome.
- Complete all work to a high standard of quality and within appropriate timescales.
- Work across trades during periods of increased demand or where there are shortages of particular trade skills.
Qualification:
- NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Joinery, or an equivalent qualification.
- Appropriate Health and Safety qualification.
Essentials:
- Full current clean driving licence
- Time-served apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery with substantial experience following completion of the apprenticeship.
- Experience carrying out a wide range of joinery work within social housing or similar property maintenance environments.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Social Housing.
- Experience ordering, collecting and receiving materials.
