- Build and lead a comprehensive Travel & Expenses transformation programme, creating a clear roadmap to improve processes, controls, systems and colleague experience.
- Review and redesign end-to-end travel and expense processes, identifying opportunities to simplify ways of working and remove inefficiencies.
- Improve visibility of travel and expense spend, ensuring leaders have greater transparency and accountability for costs across their teams.
- Implement effective governance and approval processes, ensuring appropriate controls are in place while maintaining a positive colleague experience.
- Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Technology and People teams to resolve process, policy and system challenges across the travel and expenses landscape.
- Review supplier relationships and commercial arrangements, identifying opportunities to improve value, service and contractual outcomes.
- Improve data quality and reporting, creating meaningful insights that support decision making and cost management.
- Lead the resolution of organisational hierarchy, approval and cost allocation challenges to improve ownership and accountability of spend.
- Develop and embed clear travel and expense policies that are understood, accessible and consistently applied across the business.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to challenge existing behaviours and drive a stronger culture of cost consciousness.
- Establish clear measures of success, tracking delivery against agreed financial, operational and colleague experience outcomes.
- Lead change management, communications and engagement activity to ensure sustainable adoption of new processes and behaviours.
- Benchmark Asda's travel and expenses approach against external best practice and bring recommendations to improve performance.
- Has significant experience leading business transformation, process improvement or change programmes within a large, complex organisation.
- Can quickly diagnose complex problems, identify root causes and create practical solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Is a highly effective project and programme manager, capable of managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Demonstrates excellent stakeholder management skills and is confident influencing at all levels of the organisation, including senior leadership.
- Has strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to identify opportunities to reduce cost and improve value.
- Is driven by outcomes and comfortable taking ownership for delivering change from strategy through to implementation.
- Can balance control and governance requirements with colleague experience and operational practicality.
- Has strong analytical skills and is comfortable working with data to identify trends, opportunities and risks.
- Is resilient, adaptable and able to navigate ambiguity while maintaining momentum and focus.
- Has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholder groups.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys tackling complex operational and cultural challenges.
- Travel management, procurement or expenses management experience.
- Working knowledge of travel or expense management systems such as Egencia, SAP Concur or similar platforms.
- Finance controls, governance or compliance experience.
- Shared Services or operational transformation experience.
- Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement qualifications.
- Experience delivering system, process or organisational change in a large corporate environment.
