Work and Perks
The Purchasing Specialist provides critical administrative, analytical, and operational support to the Supply Chain and Operations Excellence functions, with responsibility for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of supplier, pricing, product specification, contract, and purchasing information. This role supports the purchasing process through supplier and database management, RFP and contract administration, pricing and audit analysis, tracking of product commitments and contract expirations, and preparation of purchasing-related documentation, while assisting with special projects and initiatives that support the Company’s purchasing strategy and operational objectives.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Manages updates and maintains Miller’s Ale House distributor/supplier database with pricing updates, contracts, etc.
· Receives and maintains filing system for soft and hard copies of RFPs, contracts, agreements, specifications, etc.
· Assists in composing, tracking, and communicating product commitments/contract expirations, etc.
· Assists in updating and maintaining supplier product specification database.
· Assists with Ad hoc analysis projects (i.e.: pricing, audits).
· Assists the department with the composition of RFPs, purchasing agreements, new supplier general terms and conditions, and non-disclosure agreements.
· Maintains integrity of systems used by the Purchasing Department.
· Special projects as designated by the Chief Supply Chain Officer.
· Administrative support when required.
Requirements and Qualifications
Required Skills, Education and Experience
· Advanced skill level in all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
· 2+ years of restaurant experience preferred
· Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, hospitality, or related field or a combination of advanced education and work experience totaling a minimum of 3 years
· Proven experience working with a database management system preferred
· Knowledge of contracting and negotiating preferred
· Ability to manage multiple-changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
· Quality-centric approach toward detail orientation, problem-solving ability, verbal and written communication
· Ability to learn and retain information quickly
