Director, Global Security Operations

Location: Richmond. VA (hybrid (3 times/week or on-site full time)

Competitive base pay, bonus and benefit eligible

 

Position Overview:

The Director, Global Security Operations is responsible for leading the organization's global security operations function, ensuring the protection of employees, executives, facilities, assets, information, and business operations. Reporting to the VP, Global Security & Environmental Health & Safety, this role provides strategic and operational leadership for incident management, investigations, protective services, event security, crisis response, and regional security operations.

The Director develops and executes operational security strategies that identify, assess, and mitigate risks to the organization while maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees and business activities. The role will also be responsible for instituting a facility security audit program. This position requires a highly experienced corporate security leader with strong operational expertise, exceptional judgment, and the ability to manage complex security challenges in a global business environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day security operations across all facilities, corporate offices, business activities, and special projects
• Establish operating standards and governance processes for security operations programs while ensuring consistent implementation of security policies and procedures
• Lead the enterprise security incident management program and oversee security incident response and coordination for events affecting personnel, facilities, operations, assets, and reputation
• Lead global security investigations involving workplace violence, theft, fraud, misconduct, threats, policy violations, workplace disruptions, and other security-related matters
• Lead protective services programs supporting executives, board members, and other designated personnel; overseeing risk assessments, advance planning, travel security, and event security operations
• Institute security trainings for employees and operations globally
• Support Fleet operations through the continued deployment of security and compliance requirements
• Partner with real estate, facility and property management teams on physical security requirements and deployments
• Design, deploy, and manage a physical security audit program to assess adherence to established policies, standards, and security controls

Minimum Job Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience. 12+ years of professional experience and 4+ years of management experience

Specialized Knowledge / Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business, Public Administration, Homeland Security, or a related field
• CPP, PSP, or other relevant professional designations preferred
• Significant experience managing security incidents, investigations, and executive protection activities
• Experience managing workplace security operations and regional security functions with a strong understanding of workplace violence prevention, threat management, and security risk mitigation
• Demonstrate developing and managing enterprise incident response programs and leading cross-functional response efforts during complex security events and crises
• Experience conducting and overseeing corporate investigations with knowledge of investigative methodologies, interviewing techniques, and case documentation
• Management of executive protection programs and protective intelligence activities while understanding executive travel security and event security planning
• Understanding of access control architecture, CCTV systems, visitor credentialing and badging/access management operations
• Prior experience in law enforcement, federal service, intelligence, military security, or corporate security leadership roles

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. $121,500 - $202,500
