A Day in the Life
The Managing Director is a strategic business thinker and team builder. Someone who is highly competitive with a servant leader’s heart. Leading through individual production, the Managing Director is the beacon of success by identifying market trends, attracting, and retaining top performing talent, developing high performing teams, coaching, counseling, and teaching.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set the example for all in the office with pace and intensity of personal production.
- Develop and manage a book of business for high-level projects in audit, financial reporting, FP&A, M&A, taxation, software implementations, and more.
- Manage an elite recruiting team to maintain awareness of available talent and marketable skill sets, while also keeping them informed on upcoming projects/talent needs.
- Run team meetings to increase efficiency and drive accountability.
- Deliver and execute best practices related to client service and consultant relations.
- Foster brand identity in local markets through social media, events and public relations congruent with Vaco global marketing
- Contribute to Vaco global by promoting cross location and functional sharing of Vaco best practices.

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree required. CPA, CFA, MBA or other professional designation highly desired.
- Minimum 7 years’ selling accounting/financial project solutions.
- Background in audit, tax, and/or public accounting a plus.
- Proven success achieving and/or exceeding performance goals.
- Strong desire to lead while remaining hands-on in business development.
Technical Skills:
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Experience with Salesforce preferred
Basic Skills:
- Able to work with a sense of urgency and meet tight deadlines; Organized, detailed, and results driven.
Travel:
<20% -Occasional travel to annual conference or client sites
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. An applicant may also be eligible to participate in certain incentive compensation programs based on achieving certain performance targets set forth each year and subject to the incentive compensation plan’s terms and conditions. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
