The Manager of Benefits and HCM Administration is responsible for leading and implementing strategic initiatives in support of benefits and HR systems. This role ensures that system processes align with organizational goals and support a high-performance culture. The manager will oversee HR administrative functions and manage employee benefits programs across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
HCM Administration
- Lead the development and implementation of HR system procedures and strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day HRM and benefits maintenance.
- Support change management processes and organizational restructuring as needed.
Benefits Administration:
- Manage and administer all employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, leave of absence policies, and wellness programs.
- Serve as the point of contact for benefits vendors and brokers; lead annual benefits renewal and open enrollment process.
- Ensure benefits programs are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations (e.g., ACA, HIPAA, ERISA).
- Educate employees about benefit options and provide ongoing support for claims and inquiries.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, coach, and develop system administration team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of system administration functions
Compliance and Risk Mitigation:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Ensure company compliance with all employment, labor, and benefits regulations.
- Prepare for and support audits related to HR functions, benefits, or employee records.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel (up to 25%) to company locations, or industry events as needed.
- Must be able to travel independently via car, train, or air travel.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Associate's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required; SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Strong experience in benefits administration and HCM administration.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent use of computer and office equipment.
- May be required to attend events or meetings outside of standard business hours.
