Description
The Head of Client Development will support Practice leadership to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (including clients, prospective clients, and intermediaries); coordinate the development and management of the new business pipeline; identify new business opportunities; coordinate meetings, presentations and events to deepen stakeholder relationships and generate new business opportunities; and support Practice leadership with the preparation and delivery of new business proposals and responses to RFPs.
Being a representative of a wider professional and technology services Group with additional Consulting and Technology services available to clients, you will develop a broad understanding of the overall Group service proposition to enable opportunities for other non-Assurance Practices to be identified.
The Head of Client Development will work closely with Assurance Practice leadership to deliver against Practice Growth Plans and other business objectives, all aligned to the overarching Group strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as trusted point of contact and develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders (including clients, prospective clients, and intermediaries).
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, while strengthening existing client relationships.
- Coordinate the development and management of the new business pipeline.
- Coordinate meetings, presentations and events to deepen stakeholder relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Oversee proposals, responses to RFPs, presentations, and targeted campaigns.
- Maintain CRM accuracy for opportunities, forecasts, and client interactions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams for seamless client service.
- Provide market insights to inform business strategy.
- Develop a broad understanding of the overall Group service proposition to enable opportunities for other non-Assurance Practices to be identified.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- From industry, no prior formal client development/business development experience is required, but confident in engaging with senior people and building rapport.
- A solid understanding of Assurance Services’ delivery targeting the offshore Financial Services market (including TCSPs).
- Comfortable speaking to senior leaders and decision-makers - including C-suite and directors - across a variety of sectors, but primarily the Financial Services sector.
- Commercially aware and able to spot opportunities for client service enhancements as well as new business opportunities.
- Positive attitude, resilient, and motivated by working in a fast-changing, high-energy, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Organised and detail-focused with strong administration and reporting abilities
- Client engagement and business development in professional or financial services.
- Proven ability to secure and grow client relationships.
- Experience working with senior leaders across multiple sectors.
- Commercial awareness and proposal development skills.
- Use of CRM systems to manage pipeline.
- Educated to A-Level/Diploma standard or equivalent.
- Lead client engagement - act as a trusted point of contact to C-suite executives, client directors, and key stakeholders.
- Develop growth opportunities - identify and pursue new business opportunities while deepening relationships with existing clients to maximise revenue potential.
- Translate needs into solutions - work with Assurance teams to design integrated Assurance solutions across the core business Practices to support client needs.
- Shape proposals - craft compelling proposals and presentations to drive interest and win mandates.
- Manage the pipeline - take ownership of opportunities from identification through to closure, ensuring timely follow-up, progression and accurate administration.
- Ensure CRM accuracy - maintain our CRM (the single source of truth) with up-to-date records of all opportunities, client interactions and other key information.
- Orchestrate internal teams - work cross-functionally to ensure seamless client experiences, aligning resources from Corporate Communications, Account Management and service line and other technical specialists.
- Stay market-aware - provide market feedback, monitor industry trends, and remain up to date to inform client conversations.
