Sr. Billing CoordinatorJob Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Obtain billing documentation from physicians and input charges given by physicians. Complete all accounts receivable and claim manager edits.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the Jefferson iSCORE values
- Input charges given by physician; adding modifiers when necessary
- Completes all accounts receivable and claims manager edits.
- Assists patients with billing and insurance related questions.
- Ensures billing compliance with third party payor requirements and regulations.
Responsible for managing workqueues ensuring timely updates
- Responsible for mgmt portion of daily reconciliation of bank deposits.
- Ensuring monies are deposited on a daily basis.
- Responsible for obtaining retro authorizations
- Responsbile for reviewing account receivable reports and updating.
- Ensures billing compliance with third party payor requirements and regulations.
- Educate physciains on complainces
- Responsible for completing surgical billing.

Performs other related duties as directed by management
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of five years of coding experience required
- Experience working with accounts receivableand modifiers.
- Thorough knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations including compliance and reimbursement requirements set forth by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
- Working knowledge of medical necessity evaluation claims denials, bundling issues and charge capture.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology
- Knowledge of third party billing and payment requirement,as well as requirements of managed care plans.
