Responsibilities
Responsible for reviewing and analyzing complex payer contracts' reimbursement to identify trends and payments inconsistent with contractual rates and terms for non-government payers. Calculates and reconciles contractual adjustments that are required for all HMO, PPO and contracted groups including Worker's Compensation and Champus. The position is also responsible for submission of overpayments to the payers and for the notification of any patient overpayments.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
1. Three (3) years' experience in patient accounting or healthcare reimbursement or Associates degree with two (2) years' experience 2. General knowledge of HMO/PPO contracts and credit balances 3. Prior experience interpreting UBO4 billing documents, EOB remittances against managed care contracts, and adjustment processing. 4. Basic knowledge of hospital terminology applicable to patient billing. 5. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations 6. Good oral and written communication skills 7. Demonstrated knowledge of ten (10) key calculators, and personal computers and computer spreadsheet programs.
PREFERRED:
1. Associate's Degree in Business or related field
