Job Description Summary

               

The inside receiving operator operates and adjusts all inside receiving equipment for smooth and productive operations; monitors product sizing, lineflow and waste; corrects problems which affect quality and production costs, and makes line changes as directed by the production lead or team leader.

Job Description

Follow all safety policies, procedures, and safe work practices, and actively participate in safety programs.

• Handle raw product appropriately throughout the receiving area to maintain product integrity and quality.
• Inventory and track raw product volumes.
• Operate assigned equipment and make adjustments as needed to support efficient operations.
• Maintain consistent product flow and balanced line operations.
• Monitor product quality and ensure required product attributes are maintained.
• Communicate line status, quality concerns, and operational issues to appropriate personnel.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals and understand their functions and associated hazards.
• Perform required product testing procedures and document results as needed.
• Work independently while maintaining productivity and operational standards.
• Clean up product spills, including shoveling materials as required.
• Complete production and operational documentation accurately and timely.
• Enter production information into computer systems and use process control equipment to regulate product flow.
• Monitor in-line magnets to ensure proper operation and product protection.
• Maintain water quality by cleaning and servicing strainers.
• Perform sanitation duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Provide coverage and support in other operational areas as assigned.
• Participate in weekend cleanup activities as assigned.

Other Job Functions

• Assist with sanitation and housekeeping activities throughout the work area.
• Support cross-functional operations by providing break relief and coverage as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• One to three months of related experience and/or training is preferred; knowledge of plant operations and experience working around industrial equipment is desirable.
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions, correspondence, and operational documents in English.
• Ability to accurately complete forms and record production information in English.
• Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings with coworkers and supervisors in English.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, ratios, rates, and percentages.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity, quality, and safety standards.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with wet and slippery surfaces, elevated temperatures, high humidity, equipment vibration, and continuous noise.

• Most duties are performed within the receiving area of the facility.
• Employees regularly work on wet and slippery floors.
• Work conditions may include temperatures exceeding 100°F, high humidity, equipment vibration, and elevated noise levels.

Qualification Period

• Qualification period not to exceed 25 worked shifts.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is listed below.
