Job Description

Third Party Resilience Consultant
Office of Enterprise Resilience and ETX Strategy and Governance
Full-Time, Hyderabad, India

The Opportunity

As a Third Party Resilience Consultant, you will help strengthen MassMutual’s ability to manage disruption risk across critical supplier relationships and third-party services. You will support the assessment, monitoring, governance, and reporting activities that help determine whether key suppliers can continue to provide important services during business disruptions, technology outages, cyber events, regional incidents, or other operational stress events.

In this role, you will partner closely with Procurement, Third Party Risk Management, business owners, supplier engagement managers, technology risk, legal, compliance, and resilience stakeholders to evaluate third-party continuity and disaster recovery capabilities. You will help review supplier due diligence responses, contract exhibits, resilience documentation, testing evidence, issue remediation plans, risk acceptances, and reporting outputs that support a risk-based third-party resilience program.

Your work will help improve transparency into supplier resilience risks, strengthen preparedness for third-party disruption, and support MassMutual’s purpose of helping people secure their future and protect the ones they love.

The Team

This role is part of the Office of Enterprise Resilience, a collaborative team responsible for business continuity, emergency management, third-party resilience, technical disaster recovery, emergency tools and notification, and resilience governance. The team partners across business, technology, risk, operations, procurement, legal, and supplier management functions to improve company resiliency, reduce potential disruption impacts, and support response, recovery, and continuous improvement activities. As a result, this role may support time-sensitive supplier resilience reviews, incident-related assessments, or other critical resilience activities when needed.

The Impact:

• Execute third-party resilience activities across the supplier lifecycle by supporting inherent risk reviews, due diligence assessments, contract exhibit reviews, supplier documentation reviews, ongoing monitoring, risk acceptance, and remediation tracking.
• Evaluate supplier business continuity, disaster recovery, incident response, testing, recovery, and resilience capabilities to identify gaps that may affect MassMutual’s ability to maintain important services during a disruption.
• Partner with Procurement, Third Party Risk Management, business owners, supplier engagement managers, legal, technology risk, and resilience stakeholders to align roles, handoffs, evidence, and escalation paths for third-party resilience activities.
• Review third-party contract language, redlines, exhibits, and supporting materials to assess resilience risk, document rationale, and support risk-based decisions during supplier engagement and renewal processes.
• Maintain accurate records, issue logs, action trackers, risk summaries, and supporting evidence in enterprise tools such as Archer, ProcessUnity, Jira, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office products.
• Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, reporting routines, and management updates that provide visibility into third-party resilience posture, open risks, supplier trends, remediation progress, and program health.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities that strengthen the third-party resilience operating model, improve supplier oversight, reduce process friction, and support alignment with regulatory expectations and industry practices.
• Support supplier disruption response activities by helping assess potential business impacts, coordinating stakeholder updates, documenting decisions, and tracking follow-up actions through recovery or closure.

The Minimum Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in third-party risk management, supplier risk management, business continuity, operational resilience, disaster recovery, enterprise risk management, procurement risk, technology risk, or related program execution.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, due diligence reviews, contract reviews, control reviews, supplier monitoring, issue management, or remediation tracking.
• Experience working across cross-functional teams and stakeholders in procurement, legal, risk, technology, operations, business continuity, disaster recovery, compliance, or supplier management functions.
• Experience reviewing or assessing supplier continuity plans, disaster recovery plans, incident response capabilities, testing evidence, recovery documentation, or resilience-related controls.
• Experience using Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Experience preparing written communications, presentations, status updates, risk summaries, and meeting materials for stakeholders at multiple levels of management.
• Experience managing competing priorities, time-sensitive deliverables, and complex stakeholder needs in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours when needed to support global stakeholders, supplier disruption response, significant incidents, or critical resilience activities.

The Ideal Qualifications

• Experience supporting third-party resilience, third-party risk management, vendor risk management, supplier assurance, outsourcing oversight, or supplier lifecycle governance in the insurance or financial services industry.
• Knowledge of third-party risk management lifecycle practices, including planning, due diligence and selection, contract negotiation, ongoing monitoring, issue management, and termination or exit planning.
• Understanding of operational resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, supplier concentration risk, subcontractor risk, and critical or important service dependencies.
• Experience with regulatory expectations or industry practices related to third-party risk and operational resilience, such as interagency third-party risk management guidance, DORA, FFIEC guidance, ISO 22301, or similar frameworks.
• Experience reviewing supplier business continuity plans, disaster recovery plans, recovery test results, incident response plans, SOC reports, resilience attestations, service-level commitments, and contractual resilience provisions.
• Experience with Archer, Process Unity, Jira, SharePoint, procurement systems, supplier risk platforms, continuity planning tools, workflow management tools, or reporting platforms.
• Experience developing dashboards, scorecards, metrics, supplier risk reporting, governance materials, or executive updates for senior leaders, steering committees, risk forums, or enterprise stakeholders.
• Professional certification such as CBCP, MBCP, CTPRP, CTPRA, CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP, PMP, or equivalent experience (i.e. – ISO 22301).
• Ability to build trusted relationships, influence without direct authority, and align stakeholders across a multi-faceted organization.
• Analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and decision-support experience, with the ability to translate complex supplier risk information into clear actions, owners, timelines, and management insights.
• Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy while remaining aligned to team priorities, enterprise standards, regulatory expectations, and stakeholder needs.
