Driver

Description

The Driver's primary responsibility is to transport clients to and from the Adult Day Services Program. This includes assisting passengers with disabilities, with wheelchair loading and unloading, and securing the wheelchair with the proper restraint procedure. Schedule varies depending on the needs of the program.

This position is PRN.

Requirements

Duties And Responsibilities:

· Have a high school diploma or GED

· Demonstrate experience and interest in working with individuals affected by Alzheimer’s Disease, or other related dementias, cognitive impairments, and physical disabilities.

· Must be responsible and work well with others from diverse backgrounds.

· Ability to complete multiple duties and tasks efficiently without being prompted.

· Be willing to complete and display competency in all necessary training requirements related to your position.

· Oversee vehicle maintenance.

· Occasional building maintenance.

· Maintain cooperative work relationships.

· Able to work with a minimum of supervision.

· Ability to exercise sound judgment in emergencies

· Assisting confused clients to and from the vehicle.

· Ability to successfully complete a certified first aid and CPR class and to correctly apply training to clients as required.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Must have valid, suitable driving record and ability to Adhere to Use of Company Vehicle policy/procedure.

· Excellent customer service skills; ability to successfully interact with employees/vendors/contractors and clients/participants.

· Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., work from heights; climb ladders frequently kneel bend and twist 

Minimum Education and Experience:

· Have a high school diploma or GED

· Demonstratable aptitude in working with individuals affected by Alzheimer’s Disease, or other related dementias, and cognitive impairments.

· Must be responsible and work well with others.

· Experienced in working with the elderly, handicapped or dementia patients is preferred.

· Ability to complete multiple duties and tasks correctly and on time without being prompted.

· Chauffeurs License 

· CPR and First Aid certified or willing to obtain.
