Experienced Civil EIT - Site Development

Overview

Kimley-Horn's Memphis, Tennessee (TN) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 3+ years of experience to join their Land Development team.

 

This role will support a variety of site development projects, with a strong emphasis on large-scale data center campuses, industrial developments, and commercial site projects. The ideal candidate is a technically strong designer who enjoys solving complex site development challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and taking ownership of project deliverables.

 

This position offers the opportunity to contribute to projects ranging from small commercial developments to multi-thousand-acre campuses while working alongside experienced industry leaders. This is an in-office opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Perform site development engineering and project management for a variety of projects
• Prepare site civil designs, permitting documents, and engineering analyses using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related modeling software
• Coordinate with clients, project teams, and regulatory agencies throughout the project lifecycle
• Develop cost estimates, bid packages, technical specifications, and permitting documentation
• Apply site construction knowledge to deliver practical, effective design solutions
• Support project delivery while gaining exposure to plan production, project financials, client relations, and staff mentorship

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with a civil engineering design firm
• Bachelor's or Master's from an ABET-accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
• "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D 
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team
