The purpose of the Educator’s Aide is to support the other Educators in providing a nurturing, positive, and engaging learning environment where young children can thrive and develop foundational skills for lifelong success. Working collaboratively and flexibly, Educator’s Aides play a vital role in fostering social-emotional growth, encouraging curiosity, and supporting consistent daily routines. By upholding our core values, Aides help create a safe and stimulating space where every child is respected, valued, and supported in their development.
What You’ll Do:
Support Curriculum Implementation:
- Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, aligned with Minnesota’s early learning standards.
- Help maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters a sense of belonging, safety, and curiosity.
Child Supervision and Interaction:
- Provide active supervision to ensure children's safety and engagement in all classroom and outdoor activities.
- Assist in observing and recording developmental milestones under the guidance of the Lead Educator.
Classroom Management Support:
- Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
- Support positive behavior guidance strategies.
Family Communication:
- Greet families and support positive daily interactions during drop-off and pick-up times, under the direction of the Lead Educator and Director.
- Help provide updates using the center’s communication platform regarding children’s daily activities, meals, rest, and learning experiences.
Professional Development:
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to share ideas, resources, and best practices, that fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Requirements
What You’ll Need:
- Ability to pass a background check (required).
- Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
- Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., sit on the floor, kneel, and actively supervise children indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Calm, patient demeanor with the ability to remain collected under stress.

The starting pay range for this position is $12 to $13 hourly and is applicable for candidates who will be working in the following location[s] Iowa. This range is subject to adjustment for other geographic work locations. In addition to geographic location, Sonnet Montessori considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands, and other qualifying criteria to determine starting wages.
