OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for a Turret Set-Up III who will be responsible for advanced set-up and operation of turret punch machines to support precision metal fabrication. This role requires expert knowledge of turret operations, tooling configuration, and material handling. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead and mentor junior operators. This position plays a key role in maximizing machine performance, improving setup efficiency, and ensuring product quality.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform complex setups on CNC turret punch machines, including loading tools, adjusting parameters, and verifying programs
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine setup and tooling requirements
- Operate turret punch equipment with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency, producing parts within specified tolerances
- Inspect first-piece and in-process parts using precision measuring tools; make necessary adjustments to maintain quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine, tooling, or material issues during production
- Optimize tool usage and setup strategies to reduce downtime and improve throughput
- Lead and support training and mentoring for Turret Set-Up I and II operators
- Coordinate with programming, engineering, and quality teams to resolve technical challenges
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area
- Maintain setup documentation, logs, and machine maintenance records
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in turret punch press operations, including advanced setup responsibilities preferred
- Proficient in blueprint reading, GD&T, and the use of precision measuring instruments
- In-depth understanding of turret tooling, punch and die selection, and setup optimization
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and lead within a team environment
- Experience with ERP systems and basic computer literacy
