QA Engineer

Overview

Quest Software is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to help define and advance AI-first quality engineering practices across a diverse portfolio of Identity Recovery products, ranging from cloud-native SaaS solutions built on Microsoft Azure to enterprise on-premises Windows applications.

 This role is intended for a quality engineer who combines strong hands-on testing, automation, troubleshooting, and cloud technology experience with practical use of AI-assisted development and testing tools.

The successful candidate will contribute directly to product quality while helping the team adopt repeatable AI-assisted approaches that improve test design, automation coverage, exploratory testing, defect investigation, release confidence, and technical documentation. We are looking for someone who takes ownership of quality throughout the development lifecycle and collaborates closely with software engineers, product owners, and other members of an Agile feature team.

Responsibilities

• Champion AI-first quality engineering practices, leveraging AI-powered tools and agents to accelerate testing, improve coverage, and enhance software quality.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and quality validation solutions across API, integration, end-to-end, performance, security, and scalability testing layers.
• Define and execute risk-based testing strategies for cloud-native SaaS applications built on C#/.NET and Microsoft Azure technologies.
• Partner closely with engineers, product managers, and architects throughout the development lifecycle to embed quality into design, implementation, and release decisions.
• Create reusable AI-assisted testing workflows, prompts, and quality guardrails that drive consistent, efficient, and responsible engineering practices.
• Validate enterprise software solutions that integrate with Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, and related services.
• Drive continuous improvement of product quality by contributing to CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, test environments, observability, defect prevention, and Agile delivery processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or Software Development within Agile product teams.
• Experience owning quality outcomes throughout the software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through release and post-release validation.
• Strong programming or scripting skills using technologies such as C#, .NET, PowerShell, Python, TypeScript, or similar.
• Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks and integrating quality validation into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience designing and executing testing strategies across multiple quality domains, including functional, API, integration, performance, reliability, and security testing.
• Experience testing cloud-native applications deployed on Microsoft Azure or comparable cloud platforms.
• Practical experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools, coding agents, or agentic workflows to improve testing, automation, troubleshooting, and engineering productivity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex issues across distributed systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in cross-functional Agile teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, or related services.
• Experience with modern automation frameworks and tools such as Playwright, Selenium, SpecFlow, Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience working with AI-powered engineering platforms such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar tools.
• Experience validating enterprise SaaS, identity management, cybersecurity, backup and recovery, or systems administration products.
• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms, cloud infrastructure, virtualization technologies, and secure software development practices.
• Working knowledge of application security concepts, OWASP guidance, and common security vulnerabilities.
