Responsibilities

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The primary purpose of the Senior Program Manager position is to assist the Regional Vice President of Operations with the management and administration of rehabilitation services for Senior Living facilities.

 

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

The Senior Program Manager is responsible for overseeing Senior Living rehabilitation programs as assigned. This role combines clinical expertise, leadership, and business acumen to ensure the delivery of high-quality therapy services, strong team performance, and program growth.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program Oversight: Manage therapy services across home health, outpatient, and wellness programs. Ensure compliance with Medicare, CARF, SNF, JCAHO, OSHA, HIPAA, and company standards.
  • Clinical Leadership: Maintain a partial clinical caseload, provide direct oversight of therapy staff, and ensure consistent, ethical, and evidence-based care.
  • Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and retain therapy personnel. Oversee credentialing, performance reviews, and compliance with regulatory and company policies.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with RVP/RM on regional initiatives. Lead marketing efforts with hospitals, physicians, and community partners to grow therapy caseloads and revenue.
  • Program Innovation: Develop and implement specialized programs (e.g., dementia care, fitness, wellness initiatives) to enhance resident outcomes and engagement.
  • Operations: Manage scheduling, caseload development, and documentation. Monitor performance data and report results to leadership and facility partners.
  • Education & Collaboration: Provide in-services and education to care teams, residents, and families. Promote strong customer relationships with communities and clients.
  • Quality & Safety: Participate in quality assurance activities, maintain current knowledge of industry trends, and ensure safe practices for staff and residents.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Involves working with residents who may be physically, emotionally, or cognitively compromised
  • Requires adherence to safety, infection control, and workplace hazard protocols
  • Some travel within the region may be required

Qualifications

  • EDUCATION

    • Associate’s Degree in an allied health field, Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree or a Master’s Degree.
    • Assumes responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.
    • Must maintain valid state professional licensure.
  • SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
    • Clinical expertise in rehabilitative services with sound judgment in care planning and follow-up
    • Knowledge of healthcare marketing and customer service best practices
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to use technology daily
    • Emotional resilience, professionalism, and ability to work independently
