Overview

Supervise maintenance, repair and operation of all plant equipment and personnel required to operate and maintain equipment.

Responsibilities

Essential

  • Oversees physical operation of maintenance department.
  • Oversees physical operation of machine operators.
  • Works with all departments to support the needs of Melaleuca operations.
  • Develops coordinator staff
  • Ensures Safety practices are being followed throughout maintenance.
  • Develops and implements needed preventative Maintenance procedures
  • Develops Lock out/Tag out procedures for equipment.
  • Installs and fine tunes equipment for efficient operation.
  • Supervises and trains new maintenance personnel and Machine operators, ensuring they know how to safely operate, repair, and care for all related equipment.
  • Manages maintenance schedules to provide support to all departments.
  • Approves vacation time and timecards for maintenance.
  • Monitors the quality of work being done during and after completion.
  • Evaluates the company needs and prioritizes work orders on an as needed basis.
  • Assists in the development of production lines to improve efficiency.
  • Recommends and researches process improvements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

                                                                                    Supervision of Others

Supervises related staff by performing such duties as recommending employment status (i.e., hiring, terminating, promotions, issuing warnings, etc.), interviewing applicants, counseling, training, scheduling, resolving conflicts, coordinating with other departments, conducting associate meetings, recommending wage increase, reviews, etc.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Experience supervising in a maintenance related environment.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls and circuits.
  • Good Computer Skills (MS Office Products)
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under stress.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in high elevations, climb stairs, etc.
  • Standing, sitting or walking for duration of shift.
  • Pulling stretching, bending and lifting for duration of shift.
  • Visually read reports, work orders, etc.
  • Manual dexterity for such duties as needed in the maintenance field.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate projects.
  • Good math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc.).
  • Ten (10) years previous experience in the industrial mechanical industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical and fabrication practices and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of electronics and welding and sheet metal mechanics.
  • Four (4) years schooling in trade school or equivalent in related skills.
  • Two (2) years supervising in related field.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.

Additional

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
