Responsibilities
The ideal Systems Engineer for this position will possess the knowledge and technical expertise to support the team during the entire Systems Engineering life cycle. We are seeking a forward leaning self-starter capable of balancing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast paced environment. They will be expected to support multiple efforts and will assist the customer in making informed decisions related to requirements and developments. Candidate will perform traditional Systems Engineering and Project Management activities to include the following tasks/duties:
- Product/Capability Investigation
- manage the deep-dive into new technologies or products to determine whether or not the product offerings present new capabilities or fill technological gaps in customer setting
- MIssion Enhancement through innovation: Participate actively in the identification and triage of new-often times bespoke- technologies and to determine the best manner of evaluation.
- Active Evaluation: evaluate products and technologies identified as having merit for inclusion in future device creation
- Project management
- develop realistic timelines and cost
- develop tracking mechanisms for active projects
- maintain rlationships with outside entities to ensure the necessary information is disseminated appropriately for all parties involved
- Industry Engagement
- Engage with industry and academia to identify trends and new technological advancements that can be leveraged for custoemr needs
- Briefing/Reporting preparation
- Assist customer with tasks to include assessing, documenting, and tracking future operational requirements and ensuring those requirements are documented and included on the Technology Roadmap
- Assist customer with building briefs to ensure the appropriate level of detail based on the audience (30,000 ft view vs. more detailed)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.; an additional four years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer providing the above services
- Strong written, communications and interpersonal skills with the ability to prepare and brief complex technical and non-technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Have demonstrated experience with RF communication systems, technologies, and concepts
- Be a self-starter who will take initiative for helping manage key parts of complex technical developments.
- Possess a desire and ability to work on multiple fast-paced projects and be willing and able to aggressively learn the activities and focus of the organization.
- Must be comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
