What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, leads the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems across commercial and industrial facilities. This role oversees diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and compliance with safety and environmental standards while managing field teams and vendor relationships. The position requires coordinating service priorities, delivering technical training, and supporting critical business operations through timely issue resolution. The Senior Technician also contributes to process improvements and workforce development, ensuring optimal system performance and adherence to regulatory requirements in a dynamic work environment.

What you'll do:
- Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
- Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial and industrial equipment.
- Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Manage refrigerant handling, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating skill development.
- Maintain parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service schedules to meet business priorities.
- Participate in on-call rotation to support critical operational needs outside regular hours.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including commercial and industrial refrigeration units.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and technical guidance.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA refrigerant handling protocols, and compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R codes.
- Proficiency in managing parts inventory, vendor relationships, and coordinating service workloads to meet business priorities.
- Effective communication skills to document work accurately and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The hourly wage range for this position is $35.00 - $70.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...
Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.
Option 1: 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.Option 2: 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
