Job Description

Work with the companies everyone else talks about
At Lloyds Banking Group, we serve some of the largest corporate and institutional clients with strong UK ties. We’re talking big. Really big. Generally those with a turnover above £100m.
From our bases in the UK and the USA, we’re their go-to for funding big infrastructure, backing major housing and manufacturing projects, supporting higher education and regional development, and helping them navigate the fast-changing world of finance.

We’re experts in transaction banking, debt financing, risk management and ESG advisory. And right now, we’re investing in new products, digital trade solutions and capital markets growth - all while improving our client experience and building innovative offerings that help our customers make responsible, sustainable choices.

As a CIB Graduate, you won’t just hear about the big deals. You’ll be in the room, learning how they’re made and seeing the strategy unfold.

Rotate and specialise
Over the 2.5 year programme, you’ll complete generalist placements in Risk, Coverage and Product, as well as well as specialist placements aligned to your future role. Think of it as a guided tour through the most fascinating corners of corporate and institutional banking.

Your first taste of Corporate Banking & Markets life
Through your rotations, you may get the opportunity to:

  • Join high-stakes client meetings, picking up stakeholder management skills and learning how to build trust fast.
  • Create slick, client-facing packs that showcase our solutions.
  • Deliver strategic review presentations - complete with case studies - to celebrate wins and set next-step action plans.
  • Make senior management pipeline reports more visual and insightful.
  • Design one-page growth strategy templates to spot opportunities for strategic accounts.
  • Support financial modelling to shape the future of a deal.
  • Contribute to Deal Screening Committees, weighing up which opportunities should fly.
  • Analyse ESG and reputational risks, proposing ways to solve them. Handle client queries across two portfolios while juggling tight deadlines like a pro. Sustainability-focused - diving into ESG opportunities that help clients make responsible choices.

Learn. Apply. Repeat
You’ll work towards your Global Credit Certification (GCC), plus any other training that fits your placements and ambitions. Along the way you’ll:

  • Build commercial awareness and technical skills.
  • Learn directly from relationship managers, traders and product specialists.
  • Join your fellow grads in running events, from client networking to socials that bring the team together.

Who you’ll meet
You’ll work with senior leaders, specialist teams, and top-tier clients - getting an insider’s view of how the UK’s biggest banking decisions get made. You’ll also see how we’re investing in infrastructure, trade digitisation, ESG growth and capital markets to keep our clients (and ourselves) ahead of the curve.

Your future. Fully loaded
You’ll earn a great salary while building the skills, knowledge and network to go anywhere in corporate and institutional banking. By the end, you’ll understand the players, the products and the markets. Ready to specialise, lead projects, or take your career global.

Requirements

What you need to apply

  • Please note that we cannot sponsor visas

You’ll be based in London with option to work from other key hubs in Birmingham and Edinburgh plus other strategic locations. With our hybrid working policy, all colleagues are expected to spend a minimum of two days each week in the office, some roles are five days per week
