Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is seeking a Supplier Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 to lead a team of Supplier Manufacturing Engineers (S.ME) in Roy, Utah. This position is supporting the development of the Strategic Deterrence Systems (SDS) Division and our largest program, Sentinel. You will lead the onsite S.ME Team as a member of the Sentinel Manufacturing leadership team, interfacing with other Manufacturing team members, customers and major suppliers. As the lead for this team of S.MEs, you will be responsible for the timely execution of the specific SOWs supporting the different Business Units (BU) for Sentinel, Strategic Sourcing for SDS, and as well as managing the S.ME resources required to execute the SOW.
The individual will have working knowledge of S.ME related processes such as:
Strong background in one or more of the following commodities: metallic/composite structural assemblies, machined parts, non-metallics, metallic raw materials, electromechanical assemblies and PCBs, cables and harnesses, and construction for defense infrastructure.
Strong understanding of one or more of the following manufacturing processes utilized in the aerospace/defense industries: welding, casting, forging, cable and harness production, VLSI, machining, additive manufacturing, and construction.
Working Knowledge of Configuration and Change Management in contracts or engineering/design
This Supplier Manufacturing Engineering Manager 2 position has the following duties and responsibilities:
Collaborate with the BU Manufacturing Leads to assess SOW requirements for the execution of Sentinel program requirements related to Supplier Manufacturing Engineering for the various builds and delivery SOWs
Develop and co-ordinate accurate and executable resource plans, assist with creation of Integrated Master Schedules, work plans and associated status tracking metricsProvide guidance and direction for the team of Manufacturing Engineers who are executing the SOW requirements
Collaborate across the ME Team to ensure consistency in the use of Digital Engineering processes, tools and methods for accomplishing the development work leading to Production
Develop team members for growth in work scope capability and job satisfaction
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules, identify program opportunities for improvement and obtain solutions as applicable
Conduct assessments of team member’s performance related to team and individual goals
The candidate will need to demonstrate exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills, and to have the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with varying levels of Customer, NGC, Supplier employees and leadership
Experience leading the team to perform at cost and schedule while achieving all requirements.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business related field and a minimum 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years’ experience.
Must have an Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
Demonstrated management experience leading a technical and complex program effort.
Demonstrated experience partnering with Global Supply Chain / Procurement on supplier selection, source qualification, and delivery management
Experience supporting Make vs Buy analysis and decisions in partnership with Global Supply Chain and Engineering stakeholder
Experience participating in cross-functional component-level design reviews to generate robust, producible designs that meet performance, cost, and supply chain objectives.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Managing people experience
1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
Excellent verbal and written communications skill
5 years of experience with Land Based Missile Systems modification deployment programs
3 years of experience with DoD weapon system conceptual and preliminary design, particularly related to supplier management, design analysis cycles, cost versus capability trade studies, and multi-discipline design integration
Prior experience operating in a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high delivery rates
Previous experience interfacing with multiple suppliers across a wide range of products for ensuring product manufacturing capability and on time delivery
Preferred candidate will be a proven leader; problem solver; possess a strong work ethic; and have excellent communications and interpersonal skills required to work closely with teammates, stakeholders and both internal and external customers.
Familiarity with Northrop Grumman Manufacturing Engineering, processes and procedures.
Knowledge and experience with Production Planning functions
Experience working with Systems Applications and Products (SAP)
Prior experience with ICBM Command and Launch mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, value stream mapping, standard work)"
