Position Overview
This role supports Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) by contributing to enterprise financial risk initiatives across insurance risk, asset liability management (ALM), and broader risk management. Working with teams across the organization, this role provides analysis, coordination, and governance support that helps inform risk-aware business decisions.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Enterprise Financial Risk Management
Advance enterprise financial risk initiatives by developing analyses, leading workstreams, and contributing to risk-informed strategic decisions.
Partner across Solutions Groups, Finance, Actuarial, and Asset Management to solve complex business challenges and deliver enterprise-wide initiatives.
Strengthen enterprise risk governance by enhancing risk frameworks, policies, reporting, and governance processes that support effective decision making.
Translate technical analyses into clear, actionable insights for a variety of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Asset Liability Management
Provide subject matter expertise on Asset Liability Management by developing and enhancing enterprise frameworks for interest rate, liquidity, equity, and credit risk, while helping ensure these risks are appropriately understood and managed.
Coordinate ALM governance, including the Asset Liability Management (ALM) Working Group, to facilitate cross-functional discussions, connect enterprise initiatives, and support effective decision making.
Partner with Solutions Groups and Securian Asset Management to develop asset liability management strategies that balance risk, return, capital efficiency, and business objectives, while supporting the Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) process.
Insurance Risk
Lead analytical workstreams supporting insurance risk initiatives, including risk capacity, reinsurance, emerging risks, and the continued development of the enterprise insurance risk framework.
Strengthen enterprise insurance risk governance by supporting the Mortality Oversight Group (MOG), developing analyses, and facilitating cross-functional discussions that enhance the enterprise's understanding and management of insurance risk.
Qualifications:
ASA, FSA, or significant progress toward actuarial designation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex and ambiguous problems.
Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment, manage competing priorities, and learn new concepts quickly.
Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and accountability in managing work and delivering results.
Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively across functions.
Experience managing analytical projects and developing recommendations to support business decisions.
