The dynamic Director of Events Management will lead our events team, ensure exceptional execution and guest satisfaction while maximizing profitability. The Director of Events Management will oversee Convention Service, Sales and Catering teams which will focus on selling rooms, event bookings, executing banquet and catering functions. This role requires strategic leadership, innovative planning capabilities, and a commitment to delivering memorable experiences.
Primary responsibilities for the Director of Events Management role will include but not limited to the following:
- Acquire new and update existing accounts to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Lead the development and execution of a strategic plan to foster interdepartmental collaboration for successful events.
- Conduct pre- and post-event analyses to enhance processes and improve future client experiences.
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance event experiences and drive revenue.
- Train, supervise, and monitor the performance of the events team.
- Implement Westin brand standards, including MPSI, e-Menus, and ISAC, etc.
- Generate monthly reports, including but not limited to forecasts and recaps.
- Schedule and assign detailed duties to ensure efficient operation of the Events Department, adhering to productivity standards.
- Oversee in-house group functions, plus review and revise weekly event schedules.
- Develop and manage the annual department budget, focusing on banquet and catering revenue.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to coordinate needs, packages, and increase profitability.
- Formulate and revise annual and monthly revenue forecasts.
- Other duties may be added based on business needs.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Event Management specifically in Hotel/Resort setting required.
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management or Hospitality/Tourism Management required.
- Strong Catering, Sales and Marketing background with proven event planning and execution skills.
- Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage products, preparation, and presentation.
- Proven experience leading a team of over Seven staff in a fast-paced environment will be a requirement.
- Advanced working knowledge of OPERA PMS is strictly required.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Mastery of oral and written English communication skills will be essential.
- Proven ability to remain calm, courteous, and solution-oriented under pressure.
- Excellent attention to detail and multitasking capabilities in a high-volume environment.
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, late evenings/nights, weekends and public holidays required.
Compensation:
CI$120,000.00-
