The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Part-Time Evening Banquet Set-Up Attendant to join our team. This individual is responsible for the setup, preparation, maintenance, and breakdown of banquet rooms and meeting spaces for conferences, weddings, social events, and other functions.

Position Summary
The Banquet Set-Up Attendant ensures all meeting and event spaces are prepared according to event orders and Conference Services standards. This role is critical to delivering exceptional guest experiences and requires flexibility, attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to perform physically demanding work.

Essential Job Duties
Assemble and arrange conference and banquet equipment in meeting rooms according to event orders and Conference Services standards.
Set up and break down banquet rooms, classrooms, ballrooms, and meeting spaces for a variety of events and functions.
Perform daily thorough cleaning of ballrooms, classrooms, meeting rooms, and event spaces, including trash removal and restocking supplies.
Refresh meeting rooms during meal periods, coffee breaks, and throughout events.
Move convention materials, registration supplies, boxes, programs, and event materials throughout the hotel.
Bus and reset tables as needed during events.
Work closely with Banquet, Culinary, Stewarding, and Conference Services teams to ensure successful execution of all events.
Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally while creating an exceptional guest experience.
Maintain awareness of all functions, meetings, and events taking place throughout the property.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
What are we looking for?
Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding position. Heavy lifting is required and is an essential function of the job.
Qualified candidates must be able to:
Frequently lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 70 pounds.
Push and maneuver equipment carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
Move and position banquet tables, chairs, stages, risers, dance floor sections, refreshment carts, and conference equipment.
Frequently bend, squat, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, and lift throughout the shift.
Stand and walk for extended periods while working in a fast-paced environment.
Safely move and store event equipment while meeting setup and breakdown timelines.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
Previous banquet setup, hospitality, event setup, warehouse, or related experience preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
Commitment to providing exceptional service to guests and internal team members.
