What you'll do...
Role summary:The Lead Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services, oversees and guides associates in maintaining high-quality landscape and exterior facility standards. This role ensures compliance with safety and operational policies while managing equipment, tools, and seasonal maintenance activities. The position involves coordinating work assignments, providing technical expertise, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility sustainability and efficiency. The Lead Technician also manages vehicle maintenance, enforces regulatory compliance, and fosters a collaborative environment to achieve operational goals and deliver exceptional service to facility users.

The General Facilities Maintenance team ensures Walmart locations remain safe, functional, and welcoming through expert preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections. Specializing in HVAC and refrigeration systems, the team manages schedules and promptly addresses facility needs to support reliable building operations. What you'll do:
- Supervise associates by assigning duties, monitoring performance, and providing feedback to ensure quality and safety standards.
- Train and support associates on company policies, procedures, and compliance with external regulations such as OSHA and DOT.
- Manage landscape maintenance including planting, pruning, pest control, and seasonal exterior tasks like snow and ice removal.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring safety checks and proper documentation are completed.
- Coordinate equipment purchases, budget preparation, and maintenance to optimize facility operations and reduce costs.
- Lead teams by communicating goals, supporting change, and fostering collaboration to meet business priorities.
What you'll bring:
- Proven leadership experience supervising and developing associates in a facility services environment.
- Strong knowledge of landscape management, horticulture methods, and exterior maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
- Expertise in applying safety standards and ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, DOT, and other regulations.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service.
- Experience managing budgets, sourcing materials, and coordinating equipment maintenance.
- Proficient in leveraging technology to complete work orders and maintain accurate records.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Ability to to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and ability to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass a motor vehicle report.
No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
