Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme (“MRC”) for Hong Kong
The Mandatory Reference Checking Scheme is a framework to facilitate Authorized Institutions (“AIs”) to bilaterally obtain reference information during their recruitment process for certain positions, such that misconduct information in an individual’s previous employments can be provided to AIs to inform their employment decisions.

China Hong KongJob Responsibilities:
Evaluate & approve credit approval and manage asset quality of the Bank in designated business units or segment within Wholesale and Cross-border Banking.
Perform critical risk analysis on credit applications beyond individual approval authority, make recommendation and deal with credit challenge in Credit Committee to facilitate approval decision.
Act as a risk sponsor of large and complicated deals in terms of pre-screening process, advisory of product/ transaction structure from risk perspectives and project due diligence.
Review, assign or approve risk rating for a borrower or a borrower group. Evaluate negative news of borrowing customer, consider and initiate risk mitigating actions where appropriate.
Monitor account utilization, performance and loan compliance, alert marketing unit for irregularities.
Review, approve or recommend for approval of requests for excesses or exceptions.
Work with Business counterparts in proactive credit management of the designated credit portfolio in terms of credit migration monitoring, stress testing and early alert as well as criticized portfolio management.
Involved in discussion with product groups for new product development.
Observe market intelligence and stay close to company news and announcement.
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related disciplines.
- Professional qualification e.g. CCRP(CPM), FRM or CFA preferred.
- Minimum 6 years’ credit risk management and/or credit approval experience gained from banking industry; exposure in managing China Corporates is preferable.\
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement analysis, cash flow modelling and credit administration.
- Good credit judgment.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal and supervisory skills.
- Able to communicate and present ideas effectively and persuasively.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
