Women's Denim Designer CY

A Women’s Denim Designer to lead design and development for Private label women's brands, from initial concept and fabric selection to final production.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of denim construction, a keen eye for premium washes and finishes, and a proven track record of creating commercial, trend-forward fits that flatter diverse body types. You should live and breathe denim culture, keeping sustainability and innovation at the forefront of your process. Able to present internally to sales and to clients.

• Concept & Trend Research: Research global trends, street style, fabric innovations, and vintage markets to create seasonal mood boards, color palettes, and trend direction.
• Product Development: Sketch and generate detailed tech packs (including flat sketches, construction details, and BOMs) using Adobe Illustrator.
• Fabric & Wash Innovation: Partner with fabric mills and laundries to develop innovative washes, finishes, laser techniques, and sustainable treatments. Understand how different fabric weights and compositions (rigid vs. stretch) react to washes.
• Fit & Construction: Lead denim fit sessions in collaboration with Technical Design. Ensure consistency in fit, rise, and silhouette across all denim categories (jeans, jackets, skirts, shorts).
• Hardware & Trim Design: Source and develop custom branded hardware, leather patches, labels, and stitching details that elevate the product.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Production, and Sourcing teams to meet margin targets, calendar deadlines, and strict production timing.
• Vendor Communication: Communicate daily with overseas and domestic factories and laundries to track samples and execute design vision accurately.

• Experience: 4–6+ years of professional experience specifically in Women’s Denim Design.
• Technical Expertise: * Deep knowledge of denim laundry processes (wet and dry techniques, ozone, laser, e-flow).
• Strong understanding of denim textiles, yarn composition, stretch matrices, and shrinkage. (this would be a plus)
