At Maine Veterans' Homes, our mission is simple: Caring for Those Who Served. We are looking for a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Augusta team as a full-time Night Shift Float Nurse.
This position works three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) each week, providing nursing coverage throughout the home where needed. If you enjoy variety, teamwork, and the opportunity to support multiple units while delivering exceptional resident care, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct nursing care to our veteran residents.
- Float between units based on staffing and resident care needs.
- Assess residents and communicate changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Document care accurately and timely.
- Support a safe, respectful, and resident-centered environment.
Schedule
- Full-Time (36 hours per week)
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Three 12-hour shifts each week
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation
What We're Looking For
- Current Maine RN or LPN license in good standing
- Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing unit assignments
- Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality care
- Long-term care experience is preferred but not required
