About our property:
The Flamingo Resort & Spa is a mid-century marvel in The Valley of the Moon. The buildings, rendered with natural materials and iconic angular silhouettes, are the work of master architect Homer A. Rissman. Set on a 10-acre campus, it is an incomparable property for both its city access and sense of complete retreat. What you will have an opportunity to do:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Cycle Instructor to lead high-energy indoor cycling classes that combine the science of performance with the art of motivation. This role blends the measurable results of power-based training with the immersive, rhythm-driven experience of SoulCycle-style classes, creating an environment that challenges the body, uplifts the spirit, and inspires community.
Key Responsibilities:
· Deliver dynamic cycling classes that balance power metrics (watts, cadence, resistance) with music-driven, choreographed rides.
· Educate and motivate participants to understand and use performance data (FTP, heart rate zones, cadence ranges) to track progress and push limits.
· Create an inspiring, immersive atmosphere through music, storytelling, and personal connection—encouraging participants to reach both physical and emotional breakthroughs.
· Develop and teach a mix of class formats, such as Power Rides (metrics and endurance-focused) and Rhythm Rides (music-driven, soulful, community-focused).
· Foster an inclusive, supportive, and uplifting environment where riders of all levels feel motivated, connected, and empowered.
· Ensure proper bike setup, form, and injury-prevention techniques while challenging riders at all levels.
· Work with fitness leadership and other instructors to continuously innovate programming and curate playlists that energize and inspire.
· Demonstrate a willingness to continually grow through professional development opportunities, staying versed in current fitness trends and safe program design.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications:
· Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor (Schwinn, Spinning®, Stages, or similar) preferred.
· CPR/AED certified.
· Previous experience teaching rhythm-based or power/metrics-focused cycling classes.
· Strong musicality and ability to curate playlists that match the energy and flow of the ride.
· Motivational, high-energy presence with excellent communication skills.
· Passion for fostering both physical performance and mental/emotional well-being.
