SUMMARY:
As the Consignment Director of Entertainment, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating property, securing consignments, building relationships, and driving business within our Entertainment category. This position will focus on Hollywood memorabilia, film and television props, costumes, autographs, and other entertainment-related collectibles.
The ideal candidate brings extensive knowledge of entertainment history and the collectibles market, along with strong industry relationships and an understanding of provenance, authentication, and valuation. This dynamic position requires a proactive approach to developing new business, cultivating consignor relationships, and providing exceptional service to collectors and clients.

Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Evaluate entertainment-related property and establish appropriate auction estimates.
· Acquire consignments through Heritage Auctions leads, industry relationships, and individually generated business.
· Source and evaluate Hollywood memorabilia, screen-used and production-made props, costumes, autographs, signed material, photographs, scripts, awards, and other film and television collectibles.
· Research property, provenance, production history, and authenticity to support accurate attribution and cataloging.
· Work with internal specialists and outside experts, when appropriate, to authenticate entertainment memorabilia and autographs.
· Research and catalog property with compelling, accurate descriptions that communicate historical significance, provenance, and collector appeal.
· Proof catalog text and images, press releases, consignment and bidding emails, and advertising copy.
· Market auction lots and collections to appropriate buyers, collectors, and industry contacts.
· Develop and maintain relationships with collectors, dealers, entertainment industry professionals, archives, estates, celebrities, and other potential consignors.
· Contribute to the continued expansion of the Entertainment client and consignor database.
· Identify new business opportunities and actively pursue significant individual pieces and collections.
· Answer client and bidder inquiries before, during, and after auctions.
· Travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and review property for potential consignment.
· Actively participate in auctions and support the overall success and growth of the Entertainment category.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· 8+ years of experience in entertainment memorabilia, Hollywood collectibles, auctions, autographs, film and television archives, or other high-value collectibles.
· Proven expertise in evaluating and valuing entertainment memorabilia, including an understanding of provenance, authentication, condition, rarity, and market demand.
· Strong knowledge of Hollywood history, film and television productions, screen-used props, costumes, autographs, and entertainment collectibles.
· Familiarity with authentication methods and provenance research for autographs, props, costumes, and other production-related material.
· Established network of collectors, dealers, consignors, entertainment industry professionals, or other relevant industry contacts strongly preferred.
· Strong negotiation and sales skills, with demonstrated success developing client relationships and generating new business.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate detailed research into engaging catalog and marketing copy.
· Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple consignments and projects under tight deadlines.
· Passion for entertainment history and collecting, coupled with a dedication to providing top-tier client service.
