Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently recruiting for a Network Communications Designer 2 or 3 level to join our team at our Bacchus facility, located in Magna, Utah.
Job Summary including Duties and Responsibilities:
- Network communications design including interior and exterior ethernet and copper/fiber optic systems.
- Field investigation and documentation of existing network communications systems.
- AutoCAD drafting and design of existing and new network communications systems.
- Material take-offs, prepare requisitions to order project materials
- Work with maintenance craftsmen and contractors to get the projects constructed. Resolve field problems, troubleshooting.
- AutoCAD drafting and design of low voltage systems including fire, SCADA, access control, camera, process control
- Work as part of a multi-disciplined project team
- Oversee installation and startup of newly designed systems with both internal craft & outside contractors.
- Oversee projects from concept to completion.
- The ability to develop drawing packages using AutoCAD.
- Provide detailed cost estimates for project design and implementation.
- Project management with supervision over all aspects of a project including crafts, contractors, and overseeing budget and schedule.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80 or 4/10. The 9/80 schedule allow employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. The 4/10 schedule allows employees to work a ten-hour day Monday through Thursday.
This requisition can be filled at either level 2 or 3
Basic Qualifications:
Level 2
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 2 years of network communications design experience.
- Experience drafting/design/installation of network communications systems, including ethernet, copper, and fiber optic system.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving network and communication problems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Ability to work in field environments, including climbing ladders, working outdoors, and in confined or congested spaces.
Level 3
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 5 years of network communications design experience.
- Experience drafting/design/installation of network communications systems, including ethernet, copper, and fiber optic system.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving network and communication problems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Ability to work in field environments, including climbing ladders, working outdoors, and in confined or congested spaces.
Preferred Requirements:
- BICSI certifications highly preferred
- Network Design certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCDE, CCD, AWS, Azure)
- Excellent communication skills.
- AutoCAD drafting ability.
Primary Level Salary Range: $81,900.00 - $99,110.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $106,000.00 - $130,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
