Description
Senior Marketing Designer
Location: Remote – United States
Company Stage of Funding: Growth-Stage Insurtech Company
Office Type: Fully Remote
Salary: $160,000–$220,000 + Equity
Company Description
We’re representing a fast-growing consumer insurtech company modernizing a large segment of the auto insurance market. With a lean team of approximately 40 people, the company has built one of the fastest-growing and most profitable books of business in its segment by creating a consumer product for an historically underserved market.
The business has established strong customer traction and satisfaction, but its brand and marketing presence have not yet caught up with the strength of the underlying product and business. The next opportunity is defining how the company looks, feels, and communicates as it grows.
This role will have significant ownership over that evolution, combining brand thinking, campaign strategy, hands-on design, experimentation, and measurable growth.
What You Will Do
- Own creative strategy and execution for marketing campaigns across paid advertising, social, email, web, brand, and other growth channels.
- Take ambiguous business goals and independently turn them into campaign concepts, creative direction, and finished assets.
- Create hands-on visual assets including digital ads, social content, static imagery, presentations, web creative, and marketing collateral.
- Develop simple animations and motion assets for social and digital campaigns.
- Work directly in tools such as Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and emerging AI creative tools.
- Partner closely with Growth and Marketing to develop, launch, test, and iterate campaigns.
- Analyze campaign performance and use the results to determine what creative should change next.
- Develop hypotheses around underperforming campaigns rather than simply producing additional variations.
- Translate business objectives and performance data into clear creative points of view.
- Maintain and evolve the company's visual identity across marketing touchpoints.
- Determine where brand consistency is critical and where creative flexibility can improve performance.
- Collaborate across Growth, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Support, analytics, and leadership.
- Present and defend creative recommendations using both creative judgment and performance data.
- Proactively identify new creative opportunities without waiting for a fully developed brief.
- Own work from the initial idea through production, launch, measurement, and iteration.
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of experience in marketing design, brand design, creative, social, or a related design discipline.
- Portfolio demonstrating meaningful range across marketing campaigns, channels, and creative formats.
- Experience owning campaigns from concept and strategy through hands-on execution.
- Strong visual design fundamentals across typography, layout, composition, color, and brand systems.
- Hands-on experience creating digital, social, and performance marketing assets.
- Able to independently produce high-quality work rather than relying on other designers for execution.
- Comfortable moving between creative strategy and hands-on design throughout the same project.
- Experience using performance data, experimentation, and testing to improve creative.
- Able to take a loosely defined business problem and determine what should be built without requiring a detailed creative brief.
- Comfortable working independently within a small, fast-moving organization.
- Strong communicator who can work directly with senior leadership.
- Able to articulate and defend a creative point of view while remaining collaborative and open to feedback.
- Comfortable balancing creative quality with speed and measurable business impact.
Preferred
- Experience creating simple animation or motion design for digital campaigns.
- Strong proficiency with Figma and/or Canva.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with modern AI-powered creative and design tools.
- Experience in insurance, fintech, financial services, or another complex or regulated consumer industry.
- Experience working closely with Growth or performance marketing teams.
- Experience developing creative for customer acquisition campaigns and using performance metrics to guide iteration.
- Experience helping evolve or establish a visual brand while a company is scaling.
- Background in a startup or similarly lean organization where designers own work end-to-end.
- Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering in addition to traditional Marketing teams.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $160,000–$220,000.
- Equity included.
- Fully remote within the United States.
- 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance premiums for employees and dependents.
- 401(k) plan with no employer match.
- Unlimited vacation.
- Remote work stipend.
- Two months of parental leave.
- Highly autonomous individual contributor role with direct exposure to senior leadership.
- This is a hands-on design position, not a role centered primarily on managing designers, agencies, or creative vendors.
- Candidates should be comfortable beginning with an ambiguous goal rather than a fully developed creative brief.
- Success is measured not only by the quality of the creative but also by what ships, how it performs, and how effectively it contributes to business outcomes.
