About our property:

  The iconic Arizona Biltmore is located in the heart of the prestigious Biltmore neighborhood in Phoenix. The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration. What you will have an opportunity to do:

The Senior Pools Manager is responsible for all aspects of the pool complex's operations and financial performance, including all pools, cabanas, pool amenities, food and beverage service and pool retail. 

  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Pool Operations

  • Oversee all aspects of the daily operation of the pool complex, ensuring a seamless, safe, and efficient experience from opening through closing.

  • Manage pool opening and closing procedures and ensure all operational standards are consistently followed.

  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and labor standards throughout all hours of operation.

  • Ensure the proper care, cleanliness, organization, and presentation of pools, cabanas, public areas, equipment, supplies, and service areas.

  • Maintain high standards for food and beverage quality, consistency, presentation, and service.

  • Manage relationships with outside vendors and service providers to ensure quality, reliability, and adherence to hotel standards.

  • Plan and execute pool-related special events, activations, and REO initiatives.

Financial & Business Management

  • Own the overall financial performance of the pool complex, including revenue generation, profitability, labor, and operating expenses.

  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to maximize revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.

  • Manage payroll, tip reporting, attendance reporting, cash handling, and other financial controls.

  • Partner with Food & Beverage leadership to establish cabana pricing, develop revenue strategies, and plan seasonal activations well in advance.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and other hotel departments on promotions, packages, and initiatives designed to drive pool revenue and guest engagement.

Guest Experience & Luxury Service

  • Own the overall guest experience across the pool complex, maintaining a strong leadership floor presence and consistently engaging with guests and associates.

  • Establish and maintain luxury service standards consistent with Arizona Biltmore expectations and brand standards.

  • Monitor guest feedback, service recovery, and online reviews, taking proactive action to address concerns and identify opportunities for improvement.

Leadership & Associate Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the pool team, conducting regular performance discussions, evaluations, and training.

  • Establish a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and exceptional service.

  • Ensure associates are properly trained and consistently meet established service, operational, safety, and appearance standards.

  • Enforce uniform and grooming standards and maintain a professional, luxury-level presentation throughout the operation.

  • Lead by example and actively engage with the team to drive performance, morale, and guest satisfaction.

Safety, Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, health and sanitation requirements, hotel policies, and operating standards.

  • Ensure all required safety and security procedures are consistently followed and that associates receive appropriate safety and security training.

  • Protect hotel property, equipment, and guest belongings by maintaining appropriate safety, security, and operational controls.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain close communication and collaboration with Engineering, Security, Food & Beverage, Marketing, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless pool operations.

  • Participate in all mandatory leadership, departmental, and hotel meetings.

  • Communicate operational priorities, business results, guest feedback, staffing needs, and other key issues to senior leadership.

  • Build strong working relationships across the hotel to ensure the pool complex operates as an integrated component of the overall guest experience.

What are we looking for?

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • At least two (2) years of college education, preferred. 

EXPERIENCE

  • At least two (2) years of Food and Beverage General Manager or Director experience, required.

  • Prior management experience, preferred.

  • Luxury hotel experience, preferred.

  • Experience in a pool operation, preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

  • Food Handlers Card

  • CPR and First Aid Certification

  • Life Guard Certification
