Night Vet | Flexible rota patterns
Full-Time & Part-Time Options Available
Modern Emergency & Critical Care Hospital
The Vet Office is recruiting an experienced Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) Night Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing emergency team in Dundrum, South Dublin.
If you enjoy emergency medicine, complex hospitalised cases and critical care, this is an opportunity to work in a modern clinical environment while discussing a night rota that works for both you and the hospital.
The Opportunity
The hospital has recently undergone significant renovation and expansion, with its Emergency & Critical Care services expanding further in 2026.
You'll work with complex and emergency cases in an environment designed to support high clinical standards, rapid diagnostics and intensive patient care.
The team is particularly interested in experienced vets who are confident making independent, time-critical clinical decisions.
The Role
Your caseload may include:
Emergency consultations and triage
Critical and intensive-care patients
Trauma and emergency stabilisation
Fluid therapy and advanced catheter placement
CPR and life-threatening emergencies
Diagnostic imaging, blood work and urinalysis
Anaesthesia and intensive monitoring
Emergency and soft-tissue surgery
Surgical cases may include:
- GDV
- Exploratory laparotomy
- Splenectomy
- Wound and trauma repair
- Penetrating foreign bodies
- Other emergency soft-tissue procedures
You'll also manage hospitalised critical patients, establish treatment plans and work closely with the wider emergency and clinical teams.
Night Rota – Let's Find the Right Pattern
Rather than offering one rigid rota, the hospital is open to discussing different night-working patterns depending on the veterinarian.
Both full-time and part-time options can be considered.
If you're interested in ECC but want blocks of meaningful time off between your night shifts, we'd particularly encourage you to have a conversation with us about the available options.
Salary
€68,000–€80,000 gross/year, depending on experience and agreed working pattern.
PLUS:
€3,000 Joining Bonus
