Process Owner – MPL & Offer Support

At Dormer Pramet, The Process Owner is responsible for defining, governing, and continuously improving the global MPL strategy, standards, and processes across Dormer Pramet's and aligned with Machining standards and strategic direction. The role ensures that all product marking, packaging, and labelling solutions support product quality, customer experience, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, brand consistency, and the company's sustainability ambitions.
As the global owner of the MPL process, the incumbent will establish global standards, drive innovation, oversee governance, and lead continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Marketing, Machining, and regional organizations.
Job Purpose & Characteristics
This role is a unique blend of operational and strategic responsibilities. Process Owner – MPL & Offer Support, you contribute to guaranteeing the success of your product assortment, working together with key stakeholders. This is secured by taking an active role in assisting the Project Leader and sharing ideas to support the product portfolio and alignment with our overall business, sales, and go-to market strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
Global Process Ownership – Marking, Packaging, and Labeling (MPL)
- Own the end-to-end global Marking, Packaging & Labeling (MPL) process.
- Develop and maintain global standards, specifications, governance models, and best practices.
- Standardize MPL processes across all PU sites while accommodating regional regulatory requirements.
- Establish process ownership, accountability, and performance management across the organization.
- Lead the global MPL roadmap aligned with business strategy.
- Lead governance of packaging, labeling, and marking readiness processes.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and brand requirements.
- Define standards, workflows, and change management processes.
- Coordinate cross functional alignment while keeping execution with operational teams.
Packaging Engineering & Innovation:
- Drive innovation in packaging design to improve product protection, customer experience, logistics efficiency, and operational performance.
- Introduce new packaging technologies, materials, and automation opportunities.
- Optimize packaging designs to reduce complexity, cost, and inventory.
- Support new product introductions by ensuring MPL readiness before launch.
Product Marking & Label Governance:
- Define global standards for:
- Product marking
- Labels
- Packaging artwork
- Barcodes and QR codes
- Product identification
- Traceability
- Ensure accurate product information throughout the product lifecycle.
- Govern packaging master data within ERP and PLM systems.
Supplier & Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with Procurement in evaluating and qualifying packaging suppliers and external supply sub-contractors/partners using provided and/or approved packaging.
- Work closely with Product Management, Marketing, Manufacturing, R&D, Logistics, and Quality.
- Influence global stakeholders without direct reporting authority.
- Support manufacturing sites during implementation of packaging improvements.
Governance & Performance Management
- Define and monitor global KPIs for MPL performance.
- Conduct global process audits.
- Lead governance forums and review process performance.
- Approve global MPL standards and change requests.
- Ensure compliance across all production facilities.
Candidate Profile – Minimum Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in the metal machining industry, with at least 5 years in sales or applications.
- Proven expertise in automotive machining applications.
- Demonstrated success in business development and strategic planning.
- Strong cross-functional project management skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally.
