About the role
Provides exceptional service and effective problem resolution to members with existing loans, conducts quality assurance reviews, and supports the credit union's asset quality through proactive delinquency management, member outreach, and payment assistance efforts.
How does this role make an impact?
Responds to member questions regarding open loans via phone, email or in-person communication.
Follows established procedures to ensure accurate and timely collection of loan payments from members.
Reviews delinquency reports for late, delinquent and potentially delinquent loans. Makes initial contact with members on their past due accounts. Researches, recommends and offers appropriate payment arrangements and loan modifications to members.
Monitors incomplete loan files for receipt of required documentation and ensures timely follow up with members and loan officers.
Conducts quality assurance reviews of loan files to ensure compliance with internal loan policies and guidelines.
Tracks and monitors insurance and taxes on collateral and performs escrow analysis and lien perfection.
Assists with foreclosures, repossessions, bankruptcies, maintenance and sale of collateral in default. Assigns uncollectible accounts to collection agencies and attorneys for litigation as required.
Tests and validates system enhancements and upgrades to identify issues, verify functionality, and support successful implementation.
Do you have what we're looking for?
- This is an entry-level role; however, previous experience in customer service, banking, financial services, lending, collections, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with lending products and loan servicing practices.
- Knowledge of collections processes as they relate to consumer lending.
- Experience working in a credit union environment preferred.
- Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC) designation preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Base Pay Range:
$35,200-$48,400
The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.
Incentive Pay:
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
