Job Summary

The Loan Closing Officer Senior - Healthcare serves as a strategic and executional lead within the Specialized Industries team, independently managing and coordinating complex commercial loan closings from credit approval through funding. This role requires deep expertise in legal documentation, due diligence, and regulatory compliance. It acts as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including Relationship Managers, internal counsel, clients, and third-party vendors—to drive the timely, accurate, and compliant execution of healthcare-related loan transactions. The incumbent is also responsible for select post-closing activities and contributes to ongoing process enhancements that support risk mitigation, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Transaction Management & Legal Documentation

  • Independently manage a portfolio of moderate to highly complex loan closings, including but not limited to syndicated, participated, borrowing base, line of credit, construction, and revenue bond transactions.

  • Review and negotiate legal documents and commitment letters; ensure all terms align with credit approval and policy.

  • Coordinate with internal/external legal counsel, construction consultants, title agents, and insurance providers to facilitate closing.

  • Conduct advanced review of documentation, including insurance compliance, construction budgets/schedules, and lien/title documentation.

  • Ensure all closing conditions are met, documents are executed correctly, and deals are properly funded and booked.


Stakeholder & Client Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the closing lifecycle for internal teams and clients.

  • Participate in pre-closing meetings and coordinate transaction progress across Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, Legal, Loan Servicing, and Compliance.

  • Deliver superior client experience through proactive updates, expert guidance, and timely resolution of issues.


Compliance, Risk, & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory and internal requirements, including all federal regulated requirements are met for SFHA collateral, including movements in and out of a SFHA.

  • Monitor and verify adherence to all legal and internal credit conditions prior to funding.

  • Provide guidance on institutional risk policies, ensuring quality and control standards are met throughout the closing and post-closing phases.


Reporting, Documentation & System Management

  • Maintain accurate and organized digital closing files in internal systems.

  • Ensure timely entry, tracking, and reconciliation of all documentation and transactional data.


Process Improvement & Team Support

  • Participates in in workflow enhancements and special projects to optimize efficiency.

  • Share best practices and act as a knowledge resource across the broader closing and operations team.

  • Support knowledge-sharing and training for team members as needed.

  • Uses independent judgement and discretion to make decisions.

  • Analyzes and resolves problems.


ADDITIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • Education level required: High School / High School Equivalency (GED, HiSET, TASC) / Foreign Equivalent.

  • Minimum experience required: ​6+ Years​ of relevant experience in commercial loan operations or legal/compliance-based closing.

  • Demonstrated experience with complex loan types, including syndicated, construction, borrowing base, and multi-tranche deals.


Job Competencies:

  • Advanced understanding of loan structures, legal documentation, and commercial lending processes.

  • Proficient in reviewing and negotiating legal agreements and construction documents.

  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (OFAC, Patriot Act, Flood).

  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills; financial acumen to assess complex deal structures.

  • Demonstrated decision-making and problem-solving skills in time-sensitive, high-stakes environments.

  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking capabilities in high-volume transaction settings.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook; experience with loan accounting and document management systems.

  • Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships and deliver a high-touch client experience.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; capable of working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.

  • Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.

Pay Range

$94,536.00 - $143,016.00
